Yes, I’m a real person, if I wasn’t why the hell would I have paid $50 already? I got linked over from roclife last year when you were doing the 2nd track day, I’ve just never gotten around to being active and posting on here. I’m good friends with shockwave179 and he told me there were track days at Dunnville again so thats where I came from.
I guess I’ll introduce myself too. My name is Mike, 20 years old, go to RIT. Drive a black SRT-4, last years track day at Dunnville was my first time on a road track, had only done auto-x and drag racing before that. It was lots of fun so I definitely wanted to go back this year.

my beef was you, with Zero posts on this message board, takes advantage of a nyspeed sponsored event. im sure your a great guy, but IMO its a little troubling when its so close between two days and payments are being collected for one day, which all the sudden nullifies all the other date.

thanks for the advice. i already plan on attending some track days with s2ki.com … but my location is irrelevant. i wanted to attend this event. I would make a weekend of it and visit my family. In my opinion this event planning gets a -10. People being allowed to pay for a particular day before the close of a very close poll, for lack of a better word right now, is retarted.

He goes to the events though, so I would hold him in just as good a standing NYSpeed member than anyone who has 1000+ posts. Track days cost money, so we appreciate anyone that pays promptly and is going to support the event no matter what day is picked :tup:

I don’t know why you are thinking that. The poll clearly has an end date, and we already stated that the date wouldn’t be chosen until the poll was closed. If we wanted to dictate a date, we wouldn’t have made a poll.

You are entitled to your opinion. But since we have to pay for this trackday with money, good planning would dictate allowing those who are going regardless to pre-pay to guarantee their spot. That’s good planning by the participant (guarantee spot), and the organizer(s) (guaranteeing money to help pay for track and reserve our time ahead of schedule).
Nobody is forcing anyone to pay money if they can’t make it. I noticed quite a few people saying “I would go/pay if it was on XYZ day”. If you can’t make it this time around, there is another track day in August. Plenty of time between now and August to plan accordingly.

I said what I said about “Money talking” because when I looked at the poll, and those who had paid, the paying people had selected the 15th. And yes, that held much more weight than a few votes because of this simple fact - I front my own money to get the deposits in for these track days: The less I have to put up the better!
If there are members who participated last year, who I already know are good for it, I’ll choose pay for the date they want before someone who I don’t really know well.
Next time if you want to front $1k I’ll set the date up whenever you want! But until then I’m assuming all of the risk here man, give me a break.
Besides, the poll says it’s multiple choice - if some people can’t read, that’s not my fault. I even said in my first post:
