Has anyone ever had the pleasure of having their refund be put in the error resolution department? Have you also had the pleasure of getting the run around from the wonderful reps that work for the irs? They are telling me there are no major errors, i dont owe anything and im not being audited. Today marked 3 weeks past the day i was supposed to get my refund. They told me that they made a referral to the errors department and I should hear from them in 30 DAYS!! WTF! Now i know why people fly planes into their buildings. Filed electronically with turbo tax and it was accepted by the irs. I didnt make any mistakes apparently, noone knows why its in the errors department. Somebody shoot me in the face.
I had to file an amended return one year because I got a VERY late 1099 from NYS. I made a minor mistake on the amended return and had it sent back for corrections. Wasn’t a big deal but took forever to get my refund that year.
They’re holding it until you be nice to the Fed
mine was like that this year, it took an extra week, and i got more than i expected.
I owe $900 this year, I hope mine ends up in the error resolution department
haha, ill call geithner and bernanke and apologize
:word: Good Idea, they’ll great right on that!
But good luck getting through I’ve left the bastards about 43 messages
Don’t you always post crazy government theory’s? see where that gets you?
I like H&R block
The McDonalds of tax return preparation.
H&R block = paying someone else to put your stuff into turbotax.
EDIT: beaten
taxslayer.com > *
$15 for everything e-filed I think
turbotax premier off newsgroups > *
messages? I talk to a person every time i call, not like they are any help. Even if the person is nice, still nothing gets accomplished.
i do my own taxes, unless you own a biz or have some wacky investments losses i dont see the need to get my taxes professionally prepared, the software is pretty good…
and if you go to H&R block all they do is enter your stuff in the same software they sell
I’m a bastard so I’d probably find out what kind of harassment techniques the IRS uses when you owe them money, and do it on them in turn. It’s only fair.
I always felt a little iffy e-filing with pirated shit
TurboTax online was REALLY similar to taxslayer. taxslayer is super cheap for what it is though.
I can’t e-file anyway since im claiming FTHB so i figured im just getting PDFs anyway, fuck it
+1. I had my done by a real tax guy (read, not H&R block) the first year I did a bunch of 1099 consulting work. Having someone guide you through that gray area of claiming as many deductions as possible without getting flagged is helpful when you’re trying find ways to minimize profit in the eyes of the taxman. Mileage, business expenses, business lunches, home office, claiming partial utilities etc.
The black/white deductions for regular salaried people are easy enough with turbotax/taxcut.
in that case, pirated shit is good.
I amended for my fthb
