Don’t get your panties in a bunch.
I would make that statement to any incoming Pres., it was not directed toward Obama personally.
There is a lot of shit that goes down that only select few know about.
Bill Ayers for secretary of education?
An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast,” and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books.
The debates unnerved both candidates. When he was preparing for them during the Democratic primaries, Obama was recorded saying, “I don’t consider this to be a good format for me, which makes me more cautious. I often find myself trapped by the questions and thinking to myself, ‘You know, this is a stupid question, but let me … answer it.’ So when Brian Williams is asking me about what’s a personal thing that you’ve done [that’s green], and I say, you know, ‘Well, I planted a bunch of trees.’ And he says, ‘I’m talking about personal.’ What I’m thinking in my head is, ‘Well, the truth is, Brian, we can’t solve global warming because I f—ing changed light bulbs in my house. It’s because of something collective’.”
Some how I doubt you would.
I can see your responce if McCain won as: “McCain had his first intelligence meeting today and told the CIA how things were going to be”
I am happy that Obama won!
Well JoestypeS, 8+ years of you and I preaching the good democratic fight has finally paid off!
Wow you really don’t know me.
Yeah, he may have done that and then died a mysterious death about 1 minute later.
:snky:
I think Obama’s win is the feel-good thing of the year - both in the US and worldwide. Now thie big question is how he’ll really govern - and whether or not he can handle Pelosi and Reid, who will have agendas of their own.
It’s interesting in that he’s already named his good buddy (and extremely blunt talker) Rahm Emanuel (a.k.a “Rahmbo” to the Republicans) as Chief-of-Staff. I wonder if he’ll really follow through on his campaign promises and hire Republicans in his cabinet (and I don’t mean minor posts, either).
Rahm Emanuel knows how to pick staff. He is the architect of the Democratic majority in the house.
I expect him to pick Gates to stay on for a bit, and I fully expect Chuck Hagel to end up in there somewhere.
If we end up with 58 or 59 Senate seats, he might also pick someone like Arlen Specter or Olympia Snowe that would be replaced with a Democrat.
Wasn’t Emanuel serving for the Israeli army and his father a terrorist? Not try to stir up shit…but how does this make others feel? Don’t care?
If AWD knew anything he wouldn’t have been a McSame supporter haha.
He was a civilian volunteer in Israel during the gulf war and his dad was a pediatrician.
And his brother Ari is the inspiration for Ari Gold of Entourage.
hahaha, wikipedia:
One of his proudest moments during the Clinton administration “was an event that touched his political sensibilities and his personal ties to Israel: the 1993 Rose Garden signing ceremony after the Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Emanuel directed the details of the ceremony, down to the choreography of the famous handshake between Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat.”[7]
At this point of his political career he was known for his intensity. Notably, he reportedly told British Prime MinisterTony Blair, prior to Blair appearing in public with Clinton for the first time after the Lewinsky scandal, “This is important. Don’t fuck it up.”[8]
DUDE. There is no global conspiracy by the New World Order.
:fail:
they have aliens in Area 51!
Also from a friend in intel … there is some cool shit going on. Of couse this is all I hear asshole building suspense
be honest… wall st. has been so unbelieveably volitile in the recent few months that it would have dropped no matter what in regards to speculation of the uncertanty of a new president.
Its been up 680, down 900, up 427, down 6xx… its all over the place.
I think this is a great oppertunity. No matter what side of the aisle youre on, you have to admit, we finally have a bunch of potential world ‘teammates’ looking at us in a good light. Conservative think can run around all they want saying ‘fuck the world we’ll do this ourself’, but the truth is should a world conflict take a dive, i would rather have some people on our team rather than go at it alone. I, for one, am excited about an improved world appeal so shit can actually get done.
ummm no, biggest 2 day drop since 87 and largest post election decline since 1900!
Particularly this one. He’s going to raise capital gains, estate taxes should stay ~ 45% After an exemption of $3.5m. He is going to raise corporate taxes dampening dividends an profitability and no one knows what he plansd to do with IRC Section 401 paragraph k.
The market hates uncertainty. And we are certainly in a rather large state of one right now
That’s what I don’t get about all you Obama humpers, no one knows what the fuck he is going to do, yet many of you have already anointed him the best president of the last 100 years and he hasn’t served a single day yet.
i didn’t exhault his economic prowess and agree that its yet to be seen, but you can’t even begin to pretend we’ve had anything resembling market stability in the past month. this is nothing new. in the past month we’ve seen record dips and jumps in the dow. this volitility is nothing new, nor is it going to equalize any time soon.
some of us have seen what he has done, know who his political idol was, and believe Paul Simon to be a great man, and one of the few not corrupt politicians to come out of Cook County… Obama was brought up under Paul Simon, and Paul Simon was a great leader…
He has a lot more potential to do good than McNugget
