Does anyone know if it is necessary to put in 91 Octane in my 91 KA24DE? Has anyone noticed any differences in using 87 or 85?

87 is fine unless you advance the timing but its not required at all
i found my old motor worked best on 87 octane
Where the hell do they sell 85?

97% - 87 octane + 3% 0 octane human urine = 85 octane :o
Just sleeping at the wheel boyz. Didn’t realize I put 85. Although the rotary engine N/A actually runs better on low octane. All the IMSA wins was done on an absurdly low octane like 79 or something.
Lower octane id easyer to ignite. But often ignites too early in high horsepower or hot running engines causung detonation. So basicaly, If you can run lower octane safely, it will give you more power.
