i’d trade Sid for Ovechkin in a heartbeat, at least Alex knows how to score a goal. :D:D:D
i also thought it was odd that in between the 2nd and 3rd period of that game when they did that segment of Geno, McGuire and Milbury were talkin about how popular Geno is with the players and fans and how it doesnt seem like Sid get the same support from the players. i dont really agree with that, as i feel like the guys rally for sid aswell, but i thought it was odd for them to say something like that.
sid is an incredible player and all, but he whines too much. everytime after he gets hit or knocked down, he is always looking for a call.
Lets hope it isn’t anything serious.

Some losses in our favor
FLA (1) - BOS (6)
ANA (3) - BUF (2)
CAR (2) - OTT (4)
Maybe we can beat the Isles tomorrow instead of settling for a point lol
ya that worked out pretty well with those losses. tonight would be a good opportunity for us to capitalize.
beastmode, i have a staal jersey on right now, so dont think im a hater. lol.
Buffalo is prolly going to drop out of the playoff spot due to no ryan miller from his ankle injurt, I do not believe vanik is comming back anytime soon.
Carolina has been fregihtraining in their last 10 games I cant remember how many games they have won in a row but they are doing well.
I wonder how the rangers are going to do with tortarella, my predictions are they are still going to continue to bring the suck, they cannot produce goals… looking back at it in the begining of the year they were winning games by 1 goal giving up 1-2 goals per game… now there getting lit up and not scoring!
I dont know if we will make the playoffs this year, we are lucky that there are so many good teams int he west beating up on the teams in our conference!
Carolina are 6-4 in their past 10 games…it does seem as of now we are lucky teams are losing. Now it is time for the Pens to string together a streak to make up some ground. It must start tonight w/o sid and whitney!
perfect opportunity for the leagues best player to step up and carry the team to a win for us, tonight.
Geno > *
caps dont play until tomorrow night.
haha j/k
whats wrong with whitney
Nah… it cool lol. I know Staal is nothing special, I just hate to see them ditch him when they could atleast try him as a winger for a couple games. I know he doesnt generate alot of goals (especially with the empty netters he has been missing lately) but I dont really think he gets that much ice time, and it seems like most of it is killing penalities. Just sucks he wont park infront of the net and be a Malone type. In the end you guys are probably right… he probably does need traded
lol. Ovi is def the best goal-scorer in the league IMO. Genos overall play has been amazing since Jan of last year, but especially his back-checking and playmaking have improved drastically this year, i think.
i heard Whitney has some kind of family issue, which is why hes not playing tonight.
and for staal, id love for him to stay here, but like i said, it doesnt seem like he can truely flurish w/o playing at center (which we dont need, especi at 4mil/yr). i guess we’ll find out soon enough what Shero’s plans for him are.
Hes been carrying the load!
corrected for ya! :tounge:

The Penguins have traded defenseman Ryan Whitney to the Anaheim Ducks for winger Chris Kunitz and Chris Tangradi.
Whitney, 26, left the Penguins Wednesday to attend to a family emergency. He was in the second year of a six-year contract that totaled $24 million — a $4 million per year cap hit.
Kunitz, 29, is a 6-foot left-handed shot who has scored 81 goals in parts of four NHL seasons with Anaheim and Atlanta. He has 16 goals and 35 points in 62 games this season. He is signed through 2011-12 at a cap hit of $3.725 million.
Tangradi is a 20-year-old pound forward born in Philadelphia. Ther 6-3 left-handed shot was the 42nd player taken in the 2007 draft. He has 38 goals, 87 points and 57 penalty minutexs in 52 games with Belleville of the OHL.
The Penguins have placed forward Chris Minard on waivers to make room on the roster for Kunitz.
i was just coming to post that… damn you are fast
never heard of either of them.
:eek2: Not sure what to think of this one
I think it “may” be a good deal. I seriously think whitney is just going through a rough time now and will develop into an allstar d-man…buy we have two up coming d-men that seem to be developing as well. Kunitz seems to be a decent player from what I heard…nothing amazing but decent. What interest me is Tangradi, he is over 225 lbs and has hands…I think he is 3rd in the OHL right behind Tavaras…so if this kids pans out to be a solid Malone style player then I think the deal will be awesome for us…if not then I think the ducks may have got the better deal b/c I think Whitney will end up being awesome.
I searched for the guys on youtube and it seems like Kunitz fights a lot but eats a lot more punches than he dishes out. Don’t see any spectacular plays by either guy, but again, youtube is not the barometer that we should gauge the guys’ abilities by.
hes not a ‘fighter’ but he will fight. but he clogs up the crease and is gritty. we could use a guy like that. tangradi is a good prospect too. its not a bad deal, just not the move i was expecting
