We need people who can score on the front line. Obviously he proved himself enough for the Sabres scouts to scoop him up without even making an offer to Brad Richards. IMO Richards would be a waste of whats left in our cap considering that Pegula is willing to train/ send any of the new guys to the Amerks to freshen up. I like the move and think it will add to our already building team.
I think Richards will end up going to the Kings. They are pushing harrrrrd to get him. So much as to bring Kobe and Gretzky into the picture and try to persuade Richards on the LA lifestyle.
Right now Calgary is hounding him, and it seems they are a strong contender.

I did read something that they offered him 60 mil, but he declined. They seem to think he doesn’t want to go there. Also, the Rangers are still in it. They have lots of loot and they are willing to spend it on him.
