**Official 2008 Buffalo Bills thread**

I think we can honestly steal the division if Brady is out for the year.

you never want to see a player get hurt.

IT’S OFFICIAL.

BRADY IS OUT FOR THE SEASON

micah, your picture is on nfl.com too

great pictures

Awesome pictures. I’m so glad football started again.

fuckin criminal.

side note: awesome tailgate and awesome game.

Trent has matured, and looked very good when you consider it was his first real outing with (what seems like) a ful playbook.

Protection was pretty damned good, although I hope Peters will add a push to the running game.

Marshawn is a great runner with a shit ton of potential. He does need a couple more heartbeats @ the line so he has more lanes to choose from. He is a solid cut runner with pretty good vision, and he’s paitent.

Lee Evans will be a Probowler this year. Jackson is a solid spell back, and I like the wish bone look. He seems to have enough potential to be split back there, motion lynch to the slot, and rape the 2nd level.

Special teams  They will steal us some games, and damned sure some momentum and game changing plays. Fucking love it.

I’m not sure which one I am happiest with though… the defense or the coaching / play calling.

I fucking loved the D play. They were as close to perfect as one could realistically ask. They definitely played at an elite level.
The D Line was fast, mobile, smart, and inspired. The linebacking corps got to the ball and definately understood coverage. The secondary played super well, but you have to remember that they were working 2nd & 3rd string recievers who were jet-lagged. Even when you detract that part of their challenge, the Bills secondary still looked real good.

I am enamored with the play calling on both sides of the ball. That (IMO) is the reason that the game was the blowout (combined with the nijuries for Seattle) that is was. I’m so happy with Schonert… he really put alot of faith in his young skill pos players. IDK if the playcalling is going to be aggressive or deep enough to stun the more fearsome defenses on the schedule this year, but so long as our defense plays at near-to the same level all year, it should be “enough” to turn out some important wins.

I still want to see more effective use of the 8-15 yd pass. I dunno if it’s lack of armstrength, or lack of faith by the coaching staff. He obv has some arm to do it, but we have to establish the presence of a deep threat, and soon. This will free up lynch and make the short passing game (that we saw so much of) much more lethal.

When I consider how hurt the hawks were, and the fact that spec teams is the reason for the blowout (on paper)… I’ll stay conservative and stick with my 9-7, maybe 10-6 record.

The good news for the Bills is that NE is no longer a lock for division juggernaut.

The bad news is that the Pats WILL STILL BE A 10+ WIN TEAM; The J E T S have Favre magic on their side and will surely be a wildcard contender (depending on their D play); the Fins still look like they could absolutely be a spoiler - not a contender, but good enough to hand out a few key losses.

I should’ve taken a record of the poll before Sunday.

There were only like 4 10-6ers and nothing higher.

Take a look at the bandwagon gearing up now!

BTW - Poll auto closes Next sunday 1pm.

AFC East (and the whole AFC for that matter) just got verrrrrrrry interesting with brady gone for the year!

Fuckin :word:

IMO (as of today) Colts / Steelers are the team to beat.

Colts didn’t look so hot last nite either, i’d say if your going off just yesterday then yea the Steelers. I expect the Chargers to bounceback too, losing on the last play like that

AFC East: Three way horse race between the Jets, Bills, and Pats. IF Brady makes it back by week ~6 they will be your best bet.

AFC North: The ravens have a solid shot, but I don’t think they are consistent enough to out do the Steelers. Otherwise the Bengals will be, at best, a wildcard.

AFC South: Colts. Peyton is still Peyton and that D is still solid. Jags will be the only competition.

AFC West: Call me crazy but I thnk that the Raiders will be fighting with the Broncos stout running system for runner up. But overall it’ll have to be the Bolts to take that division. Honestly though, it could very easily end up in a heated 4 way battle considering how much fight the chiefs had in em yesterday.

Eh, for a team like the Colts you can’t go off of just week 1.

Peyton didn’t have any pre-season, and BARELY practiced. Thats huge considering that for the past 10 yrs he was that guy that practiced & studied 19 hrs a day. Obv that affected him last night, and may even linger into next weeks game. But in the end he is still one of the best to have ever played the game and is still pretty much in his prime.

Not too mention that Harrison looks like hes 110% and Freeney played close to 100%.

Oh yea… the superchargers… eh. I like em, they have a ton of individual talent, and I know they’re well like by some people here…
But IMO, they are so damned inconsistent. If the O could play on the same page & level >60% of the time they would be a juggernaut.

GO BILLS
