**Official 2008 Buffalo Bills thread**

Hopefully they get their shit together over the course of the week and continue where they left off in the 4th quarter. They looked rusty and “club norv” training camps don’t help in the beginning of the season. Fortunately, last year, after they started 1-3 they were at least fresh when everyone else was worn down at the end of the season and won 10 straight.

Other than the long TD to chambers in the first half, their first good drive started with 10 minutes and change remaining in the 4th quarter. They still managed to put up 24. Rivers looked mediocre for 50 min and dominant for the final 10. We’ll see what team shows up next week.

Precisely.

and thats been the story for the last 2-3 yrs. :tif:

Well now with Brady out for the season, that 10-6 doesn’t look so far fetched does it.

10-6 isn’t far fetched with both losses from new england.

11-5 looks much more possible maybe even 12-4

I picked 10-6. I’m saying that because there were a few people saying that there was no way they could hit 10-6.

Sleeper team '08.

The city is jumping on the collective bandwagon way too fast. This is dangerous. Just remember the 31-0 opening day win over the Pats a few years ago. Settle down.

True, but at least this year we don’t have half the starting line on IR. There are a lot of reasons to have high hopes. No matter how good/bad they do, I’m with them.

Jags - 50/50 1-1
Oakland - 2-1
St louis - 3-1
Arizona - 4 -1
Sand diego - 4-2
Miami - 4-3 (well these might not be two here ya go wins with pennington)
Ny Jets - 5-3 (sadly we’ll split these fucking farve)
New England - 5 - 4 (Split with no brady, they did look TERRIBLE against KC which sucks)
Cleveland - 5 - 5 (they looked bad against the cowboys they beat us last year marked as a loss)
KC - Sucks 6-5
SF - Sucks7-5
Miami - 8 -5 (split the wins)
Jets - 8-6
Win out Denver is a 50/50 JAy cutler seems to get a ton of hype. 9-6
New England - Win to put us at 10-6

The losses came from JETS, New England (no tom brady might get them both), Cleveland, Miami (Pennington is the X factor here, He’ll make or break this team), Chargers, Jax ( who nows with this one)

If run defense does very well this season Jax and Cleveland are wins. If we play well Charger could be a win.

AFC east… the jets are the team to beat. Even with Miami putting up a fight, (miami greatly improves with ronnie brown back, and pennington) The Jets are the new team to beat.

This is still going to come down to edwards, he has to do OK… and for teams to be retarded and try to beat our special teams lol Impossible

FYI pix are from NFL.com and espn.com

My thoughts exactly.

but c’mon… NOBODY circles the wagons as well as Buffalo does!

Not exactly a sleeper team persay… alot of analysts & experts were saying the Bills could well be contenders this year. They were saying this before Sunday to boot…

Pats are STILL “the” team to beat. Honestly, depending on what the Jets look like next week, I’m gonna say that the Jets, Bills, and Pats are on an almost level playing field in that respect. It is really surprisingly even.

Edwards needs to play like he did yesterday all year long. The D NEEDS to play at the same level. And we are going to NEED the special teams to keep getting us solid returns & ideally a few direct points as well.

Judging by yesterday alone it looks like Favre has truly brought the magic with him - but he is still very new in the system there, and the O line is playing only slightly better then the pessimistic expectations. If this remains the same then the team will struggle. If (as I expect them to) they solidify the O game they will be a top contender in the AFC as a whole.

EVEN IF brady is out for the entire season, the Pats still have one of the better Ds in the league. The O is still a complete system. They will not be able to score-at-will, but Cassel seems to be an effective manager… and with the talent & training of the rest of that O, a manager is all that they need to be competitive. Brady was a 4 star field general… all that teams needs to be a contender is a full bird colonel.

$0.02

so one of the first games i have watch in a bout 2 years and  it was ok

it was WAY more then OK. hater.

Brady is NOT OK.

I picked 9-7, but I suppose they could get to 10-6. IDK, after all these years, it’s hard/stupid to get hopes up this early. This IS the Bills we’re talking about.

no it was ok…

ha

Then add sd to that list, you bag!

the win was impressive yesterday but it was against a team missing its top 3 receivers. But on that note the Jets didn’t look very sharp against Miami.

Fuck yes!

I 100% Disagree, The Pats are poop, Cassell is garbage at least for the first 8 weeks of the season. The Pats offense even though its a complete system, is OVERly complicated I don’t think Cassell can handle it. If they scale it back the Pats are predictible.

The Jets (I was wrong on this one) I was talking to someone at work that watched the game, he said that miami was still garbage the jets we’re just slightly less crappy, Farve had to win the game, So I agree/trust my friend on this one the Jets aren’t the team to beat.

Edwards just can’t mistakes in my mind. The running game could have been better which I think it will be, but Lynch wasn’t getting that extra little bit. I think seatle knew he has a ridiculous drive and were making a better effort at the gang tackles.

Special teams is what it is. #1 in the NFL, it can be counted on to win the field position advantage every game, Scoring obviously just can’t be counted on, so It could steal a win for us here or give us a comfortable lead.

I’m still out on this one. I made an assumption that the Jets were the team to beat, just because I thought farve game them something they haven’t had in a while a solid QB. Week 2 will really tell When they do play the Pats sans Brady.

See above, Cassell must learn the Offense, and I really feel they had best D because their offense was soo good. IDK
