there are already leaked documents of issues known to verizon…I would expect updates in the near future.
I am sure there is more where that comes from

ill stick to humping my iphone, that keyboard looks harder to type on then my touch screen keyboard. i hate slide out keyboards
well goodbye iphone hello droid and i do not regret the switch although anyone else having wifi problems? everytime i connect to a wifi browsing is extremely slow or does not work at all but when i turn it off there is no problems browsing
LZ, is your company’s email on exchange?
Yea
do the require you to do PIN/remote wipe/SSL?
No
bah
I have discovered that a MASSIVE downfall for corporate/Exchange users is that Android does not natively support these COMMON ActiveSync security policies (PIN/remote wipe/SSL). There is an app that can handle it (TouchDown). IMO, this should be supported natively. The iphone 3gs, BB, and winmo can all support it.
Android will never make it in the business world without native support.
It’s not gonna stop me. I am not required to have my work email on my phone, nor do I care to have it (the notes to exchange migration here won’t be complete for some time anyways).
If TouchDown can implement it, then Google can.
Not to sound like a humper myself here (which I am) but give it time, they will.
They really don’t have a choice…If you look at the code.google.com page for the enhancement request, there are hundreds of responses that boil down to that people are either returning or not buying the droid because their IT people will not allow make exceptions on the security policies. Also IT people posting and saying that they will not allow people to get Droids, but that everyone in the office wants one.
This WILL flop if it’s not fixed
I had this problem last night, but it seems to work fine at work. 802.11n at home and 802.11g at work - i wonder if that has something to do this it.
i looked around online and many people are having the same problem and dont know whats wrong because sometime it works and sometime it does not, i went to verizon and they couldnt figure it out but said they have been having problems with the phone so that i should keep a look out for an update in the very near future
picked up a droid eris an hour or so ago seems decent so far, but the manual doesn’t really say much so I’ve just been playing around with it.
one big thing, that will possibly make me throw the phone across the room very soon if I can’t figure it out, is how to make this thing stop vibrating when I press anything.
i went to the homescreen, menu, settings, but I can’t figure it out from there. i turned it off for texting, but how do I do it for everything else?
EDIT: it also won’t get flashplayer. will it ever? i’d like to be able to watch nhl gamecenter live
the gps isn’t working very well for me right now either. I punched in my ending location and i have no idea what the directions are telling me. because my “current location” is listed at the local college which is over a mile away. wtf.
Just got my Droid today. Posting from it now. Dre, if I figure any of those out ill let you kno.
Dre, it is haptic feedback under the settings menu. To stop the vibrating.
under what? do you have the motorola droid? under settings i have;
personalize, wireless controls, call settings, sound & display, data sychronization, location, security, social network, applications, sd car & phone storage, date & time, locale & text and about phone
touchdown is a pretty legit app.
def is a downside tho, not being native on the device.
touchdown also allows global directory and the ability to open attachments.
edit: not anytime super soon but it wouldn’t surprise me if google roles out something diff for corp. end users, like its own version of an exchange/enterprise server.
Sound and display
Oh yeah…got a Droid today
