I kinda want this, but I just got a new phone in August, but I’m on the fence about if I actually like my current phone, or just the fact that it has a keyboard lol
Also not sure why Motorola has such a stigma against them, all of the phones I got from them have worked great and I really put them through their paces on the job site.
Its nice to see Moto actually offering something highend that might actually be competitive for once. They make a good phone, haven’t made good “devices” I guess.
This is insane. Seriously. The gps is awful. It is yet to get me within a mile of my actual location. I called Verizon to see if there is a way to callibrate it. They said no. It must be a common complaint as they offered to cancel my contract with no penalty and fully refund my equipment cost. I’m thinking of doing it and just getting an iPhone. Their internet is way faster and the phone is incredibly more intuitive.
its a PITA to go from portrait to landscape mode. more so than other touch screen phones. it’s not as intuitive as the iphone; on the iphone, if there’s a phone number in a text or email it shows up as a link, so you can call it. not so on my phone. also links in e-mails aren’t clickable. managing the phone book is a bit of a PITA if you want to send a text message. keyboard on the iphone is much easier to use as well, I can type a boatload faster than on my phone. copy and paste on iphone is easier to use as well, and the browser is more convenient on the iphone
i’m sorry to say, but the iphone is easier to use. screen on my droid eris is better, overall unit size is better as well. if they made a motorola droid without the bulk of a external keyboard I would probably be happy with it. alas, no such luck. iphone still wins the war
I am not sure how you can say that portrait to landscape mode is a PITA all you do it tilt the phone and i find the droid much faster as switching modes than the iphone.
I get numbers as links and the ability to click links on email on the droid:gotme:
using the touch screen keyboard is a pain on the droid cause sometimes it does not like to work or the keyboard closes randomly and you have to type slower.
yes and no copy and paste is easier on the iphone, just depends on what you are copying IMO
I am cheap, had my mind made up on the Eris until I tried it in the store. The Droid is a better device, hands down. When they update it to 2.0, things will get better I’m sure.
For the battery complainers, I streamed pandora over 3g/data for 45 minutes on the way to work. Battery is still showing full.
