Official Android thread

My droid is in pretty good condition, I’d have to unroot it though. Probably not worth much.

Camera is meh, battery life sucks, screen scratches easily.

I’d get a rezound. Better camera, better screen, faster processor. Ride it stock until S-off comes out then run cyanogenmod or miui.

BUT THE NEXUS IS PURE GOOGLE! YOU GET UPDATES FIRST!

HTC battery life is awful, I’ll take my chances on the nexus on that front. Camera I could care less about. My incredible camera was always good enough for a quick photo.

screen no scratch easy. battery life is ok so far, heavy use.

Camera is better than my droid 3. Not saying much.

me likes.

I’m happy with my Epic 4G Camera so I’m sure this one will make it look like crap. Also as I’ve stated before I’m upgrading from a OG Droid. #AnythingIsAnUpgrade

This phone is awesome. ICS is awesome. There’s a lot less “issues” switching from 3g to 4g with other phones I’ve used.

Battery life is … typical 4G. Shitty. You go 3G and it’s a bit better. I am totally ok with it, as I have batteries galore…

Picked up two G-Nexuses from Jeff today, and ran into Tunerfreak while I was there. The phone is sexy and I love it. Battery life seems to be pretty good.

<EDIT>

Anyone able to sync facebook contacts on the Galaxy Nexus? Doesn’t seem like there is an option in the facebook app. The contact photos are also kinda low res. Also the ringtones and notification sounds are pretty crappy on this phone. I can make my own, but still. If you are wondering how to easily make ringtones I have a blog post up that has step-by-step instructions on how to do it with iTunes.

Any accessories you buy, make sure they have the 3 prong charging option like the ones below. AFAIK Verizon doesn’t have these yet, and neither does Samsung. I’m holding out for these ones.

got my extended battery today, i bet I can get at least a day and a half out of this thing

went from 5:30AM to 4:30PM before I got the “plug in your phone” warning. Tomorrow I’m going to try without 4G on.

you cannot sync facebook photos with your contacts…at least not with the stock facebook app

haenzsel got a nexus, came from an og droid, the battery died in like 10 hours, he was like “i dont like that”

ive had an htc evo 4g for a while. i carry 2 spare batteries with me. i said, “welcome to the world of big screened androids”

I dont think 10 hrs is that bad really, especially for a 4g phone

we dont have 4g in buffalo

turn off the 4g sensor if you don’t have 4g…the nexus is having signal issues though, an update is in the works for it.

4G is in Buffalo via Verizon. Picking it up at Target on NFB yesterday.

oh shit really? had no idea. i have sprint. roch has sprint 4g, shits fast…

Verizon LTE shits on any other 4G out there, minus ATT LTE - which is only in like 15 places.

I’ve been running ICS on my Droid X for a couple of days now. It’s awesome. Runs like butter even on this old single core processor, and the UI is great. Actually feels like a finished OS, not just a framework to build on. Any manufacture that skins it is a fool.

Sweet, all HTC devices released after September are now officially supported by HTC’s unlocking tool. Which means the Rezound is now open to custom ROMs and kernels.

I’ve had the nexus for a week or two now and I really like it. However as stated before I will say that my incredible got MUCH better signal almost all the time. The battery life was terrible the first day, then I went in and changed a bunch of crap and installed Juice Defender and then my battery lasted a full 36 hours without even getting into the red and it was great. Now Juice Defender has crashed and will not re-install/start up properly. That really blows.

Also, being around hamburg, downtown, amherst, Lancaster, on the 190, 290, and 90 up going towards rochester I’ve yet to see this thing kick into 4g ever. CDMA/LTE is on.
