Anyone else getting tons of spam from Go sms?
I’m now using chomp sms and like it better than go sms.

I use handsent for sms.

I was, I got their new spring theme alert like once ever 10 minutes. I added them to my block list. I’m still using it though.

3rd party sms apps, meh. Stock jelly bean app is pretty good for me.

Whats the purpose of a 3rd party SMS app?

I thought most plans include unlimited texts now anyways

it’s just an application that reads your texts, not a new service. They have features like pop-ups, and iOS-like themes and other girly things.

I haven’t looked at the stock app since I got JB. Stock ICS SMS app blows ass.

EDIT:
Yeah, stock JB one seems a bit better. Switched back to it for now.

Anybody else think Verizon massively failed on their GS3 “global phone” update?

So one of the core features on a modern phone sucks and you need to use an alternate app?

Did I mention I’m counting the days till apple releases the 4.8" iphone?

Already checked and my wife’s line will be eligible for an upgrade in June when it’s supposed to launch. Already told her I’m stealing her upgrade.

The more Android pisses me off the more Android products my wife will get…

Had a no name Android tablet it sucked gave it to wife
Had a kindle fire it sucked gave it to wife
Giving my Nexus 7 to the wife shortly and getting an iPad.

That being said im still going to give the Nexus 4 a shot if it ever comes with LTE

I’ll sell my S3 to pay for my next iPhone. No way I’d give this thing to my wife and let her be aggravated by it when she’s completely happy with her iPhone 4.

Today the S3 decided to randomly nuke my battery. Left the house it was at 85%. Didn’t touch the phone all morning, went home for lunch and happened to look at the home screen to see the time and it was 23%. On the way back to work I heard the critical battery warning chirp from my pocket. It happens from time to time if you don’t reboot enough. This is a 100% stock phone, not rooted or rom’d.

sounds like you have an app that is killing the battery, should have checked the battery usage

^ I did, it listed screen as #1, followed by maps.

For a phone that hasn’t been touched since it was at 85%. lol

Kindle Fire isn’t a real android device

I thought there was a quick hack to get the Nexus 4 humming on LTE?

Sounds like you had maps running in the background.

I’m with you on going apple if you don’t “want” to tinker with your phone. I just got my wife an iphone 5 yesterday. She had no interest in android, and if she had I probably would have talked her out of it. Android just seems to embody the notion that if it isn’t broke, it doesn’t have enough features yet.

Personally half the fun of a smartphone is fucking around with new roms with different features so I love my phone. But I wouldn’t recommend anything android to my wife or parents.

It’s some software hack to get half ass LTE it doesn’t contain the proper antenna etc

I felt that way till I started traveling constantly for work and needed my phone to manage trips, email, client contacts, etc.

Now the thing just needs to perform its core functions properly if it can’t do that

Meh, I’m over the root/rom/theme/tinker shit. It was fun in the beginning.

Agreed 100%. I love messing around with Tasker and automating stuff.
