Moved from AOKP to Carbon. So far it works really nice. I had an issue on AOKP with two or three of the releases where it would drop WiFi and say it was avoided due to poor connection even though I was sitting 2 ft from my router.
Beans Rom on gs3 is a must.
Also bought the pro version of Carbon backup which is made by ClockworkMOD. Works pretty well. So far this carbon rom has been great.
might be time to run a custom ROM for me to get through the rest of my upgrade cycle on my galaxy nexus toro. I dread having to set everything back up from scratch though.
See above for both rom and backup. If you’re using a secondary launcher like I am (Nova ftw) you can probably export the settings.
I did just that and now i am running 4.2.2
I’m pretty sure I bricked my commando. or something got moved on the memory card, it is now stuck in a constant loop and won’t make it past the animation on boot up.
Ouch. You might be boned. A quick googling is making it look like there’s no stock recovery that you can access via some sort of cell phone equivalent of ctl-alt-del like you can on every other android phone.

ive been using the slacker radio on it since i got the phone way back in the day, but last week and just 5 minutes ago i got this message “tuning error: we have detected another sign in to this account. press ok to continue.”
WTF does this mean? this second time when i pressed okay, it started playing 2 songs at once, as if the app was opened twice. i pressed the return button, and it went back to playing just one song at a time.

I know someone that has the same phone, same root, I was going to copy that card exactly and try to put it on a new card to see what happens.
Why cant I add a Group to my stock AOSP sms/mms app. /rant This is my least favorite thing about the AOSP messaging app. I have to download a third party app just so i can remind a bunch of dumbasses when our soccer games are… silly. /rant2
We use group me for our battlefield 3 group. Easy to communicate with, and accessible from the web.
Got the 4.2.2 files and manually updated my Galaxy Nexus (toro). About time this got released…
gotta root and rom son. Might try this with the Wife’s phone later, or just wait for OTA.
