Incredible

today… i took it off the charger in the am, used the gps, have googlemail app running and pushing emails all day, sent about 50 texts, and talked on it for probably an 30-60 minutes total, with a bunch of time on the web and playing stupid games (probably an hour total)

Total time off charger… 14 hours (almost exactly) 13 hours 57 minutes… and I have 7% battery left…

its just about spent…

this is on the new EVO 4g… imo its not great, but its not that bad either. way better than my old winmo phone, and i actually do stuff with this one.

I’ll start tweaking it soon.

(side note, i was on my blackberry, with bluetooth on all day, and its at about 30% now) but i was on that for probably 2 hours of talk time and a bunch of messaging. email push is turned off for now though)

Light day today but I took it off the charger around noon, did about an hour of web/market total, 15-20 minutes of games, about 25 texts and about 15 minutes talk and have 51% left. Total time unplugged is 10h53 minutes.

I had wifi, gps and 4g off (since there is no 4g here yet)
Screen is Auto brightness
I also use atk free fwiw, killed the running apps probably 3 or 4 times today. I don’t know if that helps battery life or not but wifi and gps seem to make a bit of a difference.
I also turned off the haptic feedback for the keyboard.

Not too bad imo.

Putting phone in airplane mode helps a lot of you know you wont be using data or anything for a while or even if you work in dead spots. I put mine in airplane mode at work and when I leave I have 70% left still

You can also save a ton of battery if you turn the phone off as well. I turned mine off while I slept the other night and when I turned it back on in the morning I still had 100%.

You deserved that one. lol

you could but you cant play games or use apps while it is off

well played

haha, airplane mode defeats the purpose of it being a phone

I’m just saying that at my work there is terrible reception and it is always searching for service and gets pretty hot which kills the battery unless I put it in airplane mode

i wish airplane mode meant something cooler. like it flew.

me 2…

today gps off, and normal use as a phone, an hour of talk time… probably 100 sms, and an hour of web browsing…

been off the charger for 13 hours… and i have 48% battery life

are you guys using a battery monitoring program?

i have one, but the stock rom has a battery management program… and it tells me where i use battery.

is there an app to monitor how much data i use? cause verizon is following at&gay with this data cap shit.

My Verizon app

droid x rooted already but still cant load custom roms

Ot, but I love monoprice, 2 car chargers, a wall charger, and 4 cords for $12 shipped, and what a nice surprise that they all work…

I signed up for unlimited net today in hopes that they can’t cap my usage when I order my droid x

Any thoughts on the galaxy S phones? I cant get myself to buy an iphone so Ive been thinking about the captivate.

Well they seem pretty good… what carrier? ATT I assume. I don’t know the specs on the phone but I think it is supposed to have a pretty awesome screen. You can’t go wrong with android though. Dell steak looks cool too. ATT is the last carrier to get a kick ass android phone though. Obviously they are happy with mindless sheeple and their iphone addiction.

Anyone that likes the iphone OS is content with being at the mercy of apple an what they let them do. Jailbreaking makes it a good phone but android is already a good phone and I strongly believe that people who root are just giving ideas for google to make the next os. Case in point one of the biggest reasons to root in the past was to make the phone a mobile hot spot. The next update it becomes a standard feature.
