On the X would I just launch the facebook app and refresh it there?

Just got Angry Birds yesterday. Best game ever on my phone.

Settings >> Accounts & Sync >> Select Facebook >> Uncheck Sync Contacts, then Check Sync Contacts >> Wait while it refreshes (5 seconds)

There is no Accounts & Sync on my phone. It just says Accounts and when I click on that it just shows all of the accounts. I’ve tried changing the picture source to a different one and then putting it back to facebook but that didn’t work either.

lets clear this up now…the only way this happens is if they have their number listed in their information in their profile, if they dont have that then there is nothing you can do about the picture changing automatically

edit:

ok they dont have to actually have it listed but they have to register their mobile number with facebook for example go to facebook (not on phone) then account settings/mobile thats how you register it. there is nothing you can do on your end to force this but sync facebook contacts with your phone contacts

I think he meant that their photo already was in his contacts via facebook, but ddn’t update to the latest one of that person when they changed their profile pic.

Exactly. If you have the persons name spelled out the same way it shows on their facebook it will show that picture. I’m pretty sure it worked when I went to accounts and switched it from facebook to twitter for the picture source and waited like 5 mins then switched it back. Thanks for the help though.

Has anyone downloaded that “Lookout” app? Im debating on downloading it. Also, has anyone noticed their X running a little slow with launcher pro?

All of my contacts synced up with facebook contacts based on name only. The pictures don’t update often if at all. New contacts do though.

On the woman’s incredible, the contact entry for me is still showing a status update from over a month ago.

Try This:
Settings >> Accounts & Sync >> Select Facebook >> Uncheck Sync Contacts, then Check Sync Contacts >> Wait while it refreshes (5 seconds)

Also make sure her accounts are actually syncing. My fiancee’s accounts were mysteriously turned off at one point. My accounts seem to be updating pretty regularly.

On the topic of contacts On my original incredible my contacts that I have checked for work only showed up under co workers and didnt seem to show up under all when I had them checked. I don’t know what is different on this or maybe I just had something set differently but they are all my google contacts and nothing there changed.

droid x vs. incredible vs. fascinate? opinions? geehee? coming from original moto droid. looking for fast user-friendly browsing and good call quality.

no fascinate

Both incredible and droid X are great phones. Choose based on preference. My suggestion is go to the store and fiddle.

i already did. i like the droid x, but it’s really big. the quality of the screen on the fascinate seemed to be the best. but i heard bad things about the actual phone. incredible is the only one i haven’t played with too much. just trying to gather a little more info from people who’ve had these phones for a period of time, there’s only so much you can figure out in store, ya know?

I absolutely love my Incredible. Great size, great form factor. If I carried a man purse, I’d be tempted by the X, but I think it’s a bit large for carrying in a pocket.

Got the Droid X the day it came out. I love it. It doesn’t feel too big/bulky in my pocket either.

FWIW I’m on my 3rd Incredible since late June. The screen cracked the first night I had it and about two months later the 2nd one restarted and wouldn’t boot up. The 3rd one I have does still tweak out every now and then. I do have to restart it occasionally and programs are constantly freezing.

That said I actually am happy with the phone. Great screen and it’s pretty fast when it comes down to it.

The X is so slim that it isn’t a bother in my pocket

Motorola admitted that their 2.2 version is buggy on the Droid X…I would still consider it for my phone of choice. The fascinate will probably have swype pre-built in…which is a bonus. The samsung phones are pretty nice.

I just replaces my first one cause I dropped it. The screen cracked and I was angry but it has been a really reliable phone especially since 2.2

Ever since I turned off my atk 2.2 on my X has been wayyyy less buggy. And the size doesn’t bother me either. I came from an LG Dare and picked up my dare the other day and it didn’t even feel like a real phone haha
