Official Android thread

Yes I am at 600mhz and it does indeed run at that and not bad might I add, go download the new version and see for yourself

i also would just like to throw a heads up out there for people that keep music on their phone and are thinking about switching to a gingerbread rom. the new google music app will sync you music to the google servers and you can stream the music to your phone

more info here

All this gingerbread stuff sounds pretty nice, not sure I feel like going through all the work to get it though.

if anybody else hates the new weather channel app the old one is still around…dish network weather in market

I got super fed up with stock froyo. the home screen delays and dreaded disappearing icons just REALLY frustrated the shit out of me. I flashed to Alfonso’s Gingerbread ROM. So far running great

i think the home screen delays and icons disappearing have a lot to do with the kernel used. In the GB rom i still have those problems but when i had the 1ghz kernel flashed i saw that a lot less but my battery suffered at that expense

Possibly getting the Atrix for work…crossing my fingers.

<EDIT>
Looks like it’s ordered…MOAR ANDROID GOODNESS

Is there any way to make it so I don’t get email notifications while I’m sleeping? I want to be woken up by texts, or calls, in case of an emergency. I use my phone as an alarm clock, so turning it to vibrate or silent won’t do. I plug it in next to me at night, so maybe if it wouldn’t notify me when it’s plugged in that would work. I just don’t want to be woken up by spam in one of my email accounts. Any ideas?

just turn off mail notifications?

of you can wait till i finish making my app lol

I’d rather not have to turn off email notifications on four different email accounts before i go to sleep. What kind of app? If it applies i’d be happy to beta (or even alpha) test it for you.

it deals with customizing all sorts of different types of notifications and the part you will like you can schedule when you want notifications to be on and off. like a set it and forget it type of thing

That would be awesome. I found an app called locale which does that, but it doesn’t work with email. You have to buy a .99 plugin called locale email silencer as well as the $10 locale app to get it to work.

There is one that manages alerts, shuts off things (GPS, WiFi, etc.) at certain times. The name escapes me. I’m sure Tuner knows.

i’m now running the low voltage 1.25ghz ROM, shit’s running nice…hopefully the battery usage is good!

sounds like locale

Tasker will do this, along with JuiceDefender

I’m using timeriffic

There’s a battery manager built into the X that lets you turn off syncing at night. Lost it with the Liberty ROM though. I’m going to try the ones you guys are recommending.

Ah, here we go. Downloaded fission from here http://www.teamdefuse.com/roms/rom-manager/ and installed the stock battery manager.

Got the Atrix for work. Home button doesn’t seem to work though

can any of you atrix users confirm that you can only record 30 seconds of video? any work arounds if so?

30 minutes a piece on HD from what I’ve obtained. Definitely not 30 seconds…I did a test video yesterday mainly to test the audio:

Please excuse my shitiness of guitar playing:
