It’s the only feature I’ve used so far on it. Works well though.

Droid X, about 9 months old…has begun to randomly shut down recently, usually at times when I need to make a phone call, go figure. Sometimes it will freeze up, so I’ll pull the battery and fire her back up…but usually this takes 2-3 attempts to get it back up and running. Other times it will straight up power itself off, with a 50/50 chance of powering back up and acting normal.
Anyone experience this?
Sounds like something’s scrambled in the OS. I’d just back up everything and reset it.
you can also try a warranty replacement.
If anyone’s interested I tried taking it in without unrooting it, and just walked up without giving them my info, and was told that it had died because it was rooted, and that they wouldn’t replace it. He asked for my phone number (I think so he could mark on my account that it was rooted) and i just said no thanks, I’ll take my phone back. I just bought a new micro sd card. This one is class 10, and everything works way better anyways.
IT died because it was rooted…should have asked for a further explanation.
He said they couldn’t even diagnose it any further because it was rooted. I understand that they can’t be liable for stuff that I do to the phone, but if i sold my customers a computer without administrative access, and told them if they get admin access their warranty is void I would be out of business.
verizon honors the manuf. warr, but if the software is modified they no longer honor it. the manuf. will still honor it however.
Jeff, I never bought a warranty…and my droid is ‘stock’…is there a 1 year manufacturer warranty on these?

Yeah I don’t think anyone actually uses those keyboards. HTC typically gives the best out of the box experience, but the new motorola UI on gingerbread is actually fairly nice. The DX2 that comes out next week is going to be a really nice phone if you don’t mind carrying around that slab. I mean, the droid pro looks like it has a nice keyboard but was kind of a bastard child as far as development goes.

As in a Palm (HP) Pre? That phone sucks balls. It’s a phone I’d give a 5 year old to play with.
What’s the chance of an early upgrade 
the pre2 is actually really nice. ive yet to see the web os lag at all and ive thrown a ton at it. super easy to use, its great for first time smartphone users not looking to nerd-out on some rooted droid.
