I had them tell my that when I first got the phone but I think that was 2.0 or 2.1. I didn’t know they still pushed that.
i just got an evo. its pretty awesome. typing really just blows me away. type as fast as you want, it’ll catch all of it and make sense of it all
fwiw I deleted ATK but after the 2.3 update for the EVO it is using much more memory and I am actually getting low mem warnings. I reinstalled ATK and that has solved my issues. Really wish I would have rooted instead of taking the OTA. Now I am stuck until somebody finds an exploit. OR until I can get my hands on a nexus S and I will sell the evo.
Anyone know how to turn off the roaming? I was down by the water a lot and kept kicking over to the Canada networks. I rather see no service.
Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks
check box for killing data while roaming at least.
Ya that is checked by default. I remeber some old phones you could select HOME only which will only connect to the SIM card’s network and not let it roam. Just being by the water a lot I notice my shit kicks over to RODGERS and would rather have no service then roaming.
check the market, might be an app for that 
Despite what is probably better judgement, I bought a DX2. Should be here tomorrow, kind of excited for my first smartphone.
I have this option on my Droid OG and my Epic. Go under “System Select” after navigating the way bj4 posted. Should be able to set it to AT&T only or Home Only…
Want to update my experience with motorola. My atrix ear piece stopped working during phone calls. Motorola gave me a RMA# to send it in since it has a 1 year warranty. Had to sent it to TX, shipped on Monday they got it Friday. Wednesday rolls around I get email that the phone is fixed and will be shipped out. Thursday I get home and phone is at my house. Probably one of the best experiences I have had with a company, extremely professional and very quick turn around with over night shipping. Only cost me shipping to the repair facility. Phone works great.
Why didn’t you go through Verizon?
Probably because Atrix is an AT&T phone. Silly Fry man.
I bet you can’t guess what my next question is…
I don’t think AT&T warranties hardware.

I don’t have phone insurance, ATT just wanted to sell me a new phone. I didn’t push the 1 year warranty even though it seemed like a hardware issue. Besides they kept telling me I rooted the phone and screwed it up even though I never rooted. I just called Motorola and was taken care of right away.
I just noticed that yesterday. Friggin awesome. Well built 7" android tab for $225 (refurbs from B&N on ebay right now)? Yes please. The lack of mic is a little disappointing because that’ll keep you from doing video calling, but otherwise perfect!
