Official BB Crew Thread

Fry how do you like it?

Crackberry seems to have a lot of issues with it, and if that’s the case I’ll stick with my Bold, but then again main reason for switching is the lackluster AT&T service.

the actual ball itself does not light up, but the surround on it lights up so you can see/use it just fine

i got mine at 10:30 am and have been using it all day tweaking it and adding my apps, so far absolutely no problems and its running flawlessly, 100x better than my storm had run (ha ha i even tried to click the screen a couple times)

for anyone out there wanting a blackberry with verizon this is the phone to have IMO, typing becomes super easy and i am already faster with typing than i was with the storm (big suprise there)

the only thing i wish was the memory card was bigger, but i guess i can get a 16gig for 50 bucks on crackberry.com if i had to

Crackberry complains about everything and amplifies problems. Got mine today and it’s great. I’ll check the headphone jack tomorrow.

 the only thing that they seemed to complain about was 1) location of the usb port and 2) loose battery cover.

if loose batter cover is your biggest complaint than i would call that a success IMO

mine doesnt feel like its locked down with superglue but it doesnt bother me any at all

only thing i havent gotten to check yet was the headphone jack

Yeah, the USB port is unfortunate, especially since mine will be on a charger a lot (streaming sirius KILLS battery). Oh well.

Is the headphone jack 2.5 or 3.5? I could google is but I am lazy.

Any pics yet from the boys who have em? I am pretty certain I will be switching over because once again today I have gotten “call failed” about a dozen times.

its 3.5.

and you are so god damned wishy-washy

No pictures, sorry. What do you need to see that isn’t in the press/release photos?

Dude you have no idea… ha!

I’m getting more impressed the more I use it. Calls are clearer than on any of my past phones (various clamshells, then an i730 pda, then an i760 pda, then an 8830) especially with the speakerphone. It stays clear at higher volumes.

The OS is nice and stable, which I’m sure is helped by having 4x’s the onboard memory of the 8830. Keyboard is the nicest I’ve used.

The battery door on my first one with the bad headphone jack was a lot looser than the one I have now. This one still moves, but it doesn’t feel “loose”. It’s not wobbly or anything. It’s not loose, but you can slide it about 1/64th of an inch if you push up/down on it. Not a nuisance at all, and I’m all sorts of anal about stuff like that.

Battery life seems really good. After about 2 days of average use (a little talking, texting, pandora, etc) and it’s still got 1/4 battery or so.

This thing will probably unseat the i730 as my all-time favorite phone. Eh, who am I kidding. This thing blows it away.

Now I just need to take the time to find a theme that puts my calendar (and hopefully tasks?) on my home screen. It didn’t come with one.

Good to see you’ve been fully converted to the Black side.

Themes will be a bit delayed. I read just the other day that they just released the SDK for the 4.7.1 OS. I’m positive someone will come up with a theme that will do what you want.

the more i use the tour the more i love it, i rarely see the spinning clock (or w/e you want to call it) and i would see it all the time before on my storm

Keep checking crackberry for themes they should show up soon.

anyone got a crackberry pearl for sprint they want to sell ???

Posted a question but figured it out Thanks anyway if someone was responding

BBM 5.0 leaked…

i saw that, any cool features?

the barcode feature is neat. no more entering in PINs / email (not like that was hard).

contact list backup via email? havnt really played with that yet

its much more graphical.

I dunno, I liked the layout of the old version. I dont need avatars and status messages and such
