Official BB Crew Thread

i believe there are, but i’ve never looked into it, as i’ve never had a problem.

I believe it to be someone in the OS though, not the player. it does the same kinda sound transfer to me when talking on the phone if I unplug it.

Yeah, probably. Worth a try though. I’d rather not go to the VZW store and ask them for a Tour made in Canada. They’d probably look at me like I have two heads or a Cricket phone or something.

It does have the country on the box, near the ESN. In case you get a chance to look through their stock or something

Bah. It does it in Pandora too. Except Pandora keeps playing through the speaker. :ohnoes:

Tour #3 here I come! :roflpicard:

I’m a Tour owner now… so far so good. After a day of use I will determine if I like it more than the Bold.

I think I might hate the 9630 forum on crackberry more than the MKIV forum on vwvortex. I’ve rarely seen such a mountain of worthless threads and retarded members. Kids that think people should stop bitching and just live with defective phones, kids that want to return their phones because they think the gap between the keys is too big, threads just to say “Hai gais I loves my tour!” :wtf:

Did the Storm have this many bugs when it was first released? Like is this just new model syndrome or is this thing really a mess?

The storm had a ton of problems, it was simply just rushed. They changed the chassis of the phone to fix click issues and that fixed any hardware problems. Since then the OS got updated and made it a pretty damn good phone but it was a long time. The new storm is actually coming out soon and I am a little upset about that, I would have rather waited for a perfect piece of hardware.

Well now I’ve got a Canadian Tour. The battery door and the trackball feel looser, which I don’t really care about as long as the trackball doesn’t develop the left/right scrolling issue people are bitching about. I don’t give a fuck about the battery door. The keyboard feels tighter but we’ll see after a couple of weeks of use. Don’t care about that either.

My Sony gym headphones still don’t work. My cheap ass RCA office headphones work perfect. Hopefully My good Altec earbuds still work with the new one or it’s going back and I’ll go back to winmo or something.

How long was it after the Storm was released that they updated the chassis?

seemed like a month or 2

I’m digging mine so far. I need a new case for it though, any good ones out there?

FML. This one is worse than the last one. I was afraid of that. I’ll just deal with it for a month or two then swap it again.

I thought about ditching it for the HTC Ozone until I got a look at the size of the audio adapter. It’s a USB to 3.5mm adapter so it’s got a A/D converter box on the cable. It would literally be less mass for me to carry the Tour and my Sansa Clip. :picard:

Just hang in there…

When you get one that works, it’s awesome. I LOVE mine.

This may have been covered already, but have you looked into getting a pair of bluetooth headphones. I have a pair hooked to my Storm and they work wonderfully.

That’s what happens when Verizon gets dibs on a device. Things will smooth out once it goes GSM.

My 8900 is the same way, it’s because regular headphones don’t have a 3rd contact on the plug. I cut off the ear-buds from the included headphones and put a female jack in place of them(Radio Shack FTW). Now I can plug in any headphones I want AND I still have use of the mic.

this is retarded to say.

while this holds some truth, i never had a problem with my sony earbuds in mine.

The earbuds in question are tight as a 14 year old’s asshole on my wife’s curve.

I can certainly understand why some headphones work better than others, but the bottom line is that any 3.5mm headphones should work on this thing and the fact that some don’t mean that this device is defective. I’ll live with it for a while, but I’m not going to permanently accept a brand new $200 dollar device that doesn’t work properly.

Blackberry is lucky that all of the PDA’s VZW is offering right now suck really hard (really, have you looked at them lately?) so I’d rather have a BB with a jacked headphone port than anything else they offer.

I’ll wait a month or two then get it replaced again. The rest of the phone kicks ass though.

Is it really? Verizon carries trendy, disposable phones - phones that you want to trade out for newer models before your contract is even out. But BlackBerrys are not fashion statements, they are tools, and when you give them to a company like Verizon, you’re going to have to deal with the atypical Verizon follower. You may not fall into that category but that doesn’t change what the average Verizon customer is.

My Shure’s work perfectly fine with my Tour…

So far I’d put this right on par with the Bold IMO, the only thing obv I do miss being wifi but meh I’ll get over it, and the scroll ball is smaller on the tour.

Having a bad date?

Stucking in a boring ass meeting?
