Official Beer Thread

This was a few of the beers that I picked up from my last stop in Michigan.

Had way to many Big Ditch Hayburners on Saturday night.

They are. The Rebel Rouser is just like drinking the Rebel IPA only more better…

That was a Raging Bitch and it was delicious.

Had some nice beers last weekend during our monthly poker game. Was my first time trying Heady Topper and it definitely lived up to the hype, delicious. Sip of Sunshine and Second Fiddle were very good as well.

Ok. I really need to get in on some of this Heady Topper action…

I fuck with sip of sunshine and fiddlehead over HT all day. Solid line up there.

This was in cans, then on draft at monk for a hot minute. Super, super delicious dry hopped lager.

I had one of these vanilla porters the other day, it was delicious.

This new job will definitely increase my beer spending budget.

All solid choices. The Scotch Ale is one of the best.

Got a 6’er of habanero sculpin last night. Not bad. It was hot, but not painful and overbearing. Also got a 4 pack of victory Kirsch Gose which I have had on tap and is amazing.

Anyone else not a big fan of the “Summer Ales”. I did find a pretty good summer beer at beerology, the Victory Summer Love.

That is quite a good gose. Was sipping on a few last night and it went quite well with the warm weather.

I got surprised by Habanero Sculpin at Pizza Plant a couple of years ago. Saw the taphandle, and ordered it while waiting for food. Had a few sips. About a minute later, my insides were all “there’s something odd going on with heat, but can’t place it”. Then I read the menu closely. I liked it, but maybe not enough to buy a 6.

If you want a heat adventure, take notice next time Stone releases Crime, and Punishment. Punishment is hotter. I’m pretty sure Greg gathered every hot pepper within a mile of Stone, and put them in the kettle. If you do this, have friends over for a tasting and roll video.

Sam Adams Summer Ale isn’t bad, but if I’m going to drink a summer beer I’d reach for their Porch Rocker first. I just realized I need to try some more summer beer…

My buddy here is a pepper head, and he was talking tough pregaming for his birthday a few weeks ago. We made him drink a Punishment in one sitting followed by 2 shots of Jack Fire. Hilarity ensued.

Also, grapefruit sculpin >> habanero.

^^ I don’t like either of those, Porch Rocker I think is pretty terrible.

Which is why I said I need to expand my horizons.

I’m open to suggestions.

A whole Punishment bomber? That sucks! We were doing 4-6oz tastings, and even my wife who likes good beer, and hot foods was all “F this”

And yeah, the Grapefruit Sculpin is an outstanding summer beer.

Anderson Valley - The Kimmie the Yink & the Holy Gose

I need to go buy some more of this:
