I can NOT get enough of Stochasticity Project Grapefruit Slam IPA.

If you love hoppy IPAs with the citrus note present, you’ve gotta try this.
Have 1-2 four packs of KBS up for grabs if anyone needs some
i am interested.
I also have KBS for trade as well as BCBS.picking up my 4 pack of Lawson’s sip of sunshine today from my uncle who just got back from VT, will post my thoughts.
Forgot to post.
Went to Gordon’s and had:
21st Amendment - “Hell or High Watermelon”…This was decent, nice light beer, flavoring was like a watermelon gum flavor. Not one for flavored beers, but it sounded interesting.
Big Ditch - “Hayburnner” Seriously…this shit is my favorite beer
Goose Island - “Summer Ale” … Smelled like an armpit, didn’t taste much better. I usually like all of the Goose Island stuff I’ve had so far, this one was a no go.
Am I the only person that finds KBS to be too much and not like it at all?
No, you’re not. For my tastes, Alesmith Speedway Stout all day long. A full bodied, natural 12% beer that still has higher abv than KBS along with much more complex flavors. My opinion.
KBS or BCBS are not enjoyable fresh imho. I just cant get past the overall in your face hotness of the bourbon. After about 18 months sitting in the cellar they mellow down and you get a much more palatable beer that shows more of its colors.
Bought a 6 pack of the Not your grandfathers root beer as it has more hype than the Baltimore riots. It was interesting. The only sign of alcohols is in the aftertaste. It is actually like a vaporized vodka type of a flavor but without that strength. I gave my mother in law a bottle because she was asking for a Redds Strawberry (yes I keep EVERYTHING in my house for people), she said that the rootbeer was too sweet. If it is sweeter than a Redds I am shocked but I have never had nor will I have the strawberry beer.
Next, the Southern tier Choklat Oranj is really good. I only had a 2oz taste of it but I will definitely be getting a couple bottles of my own. This may even be one to reach out to certo for a 6 barrel if you have the equipment and want something that will last for some time on tap as this is definitely not a daily drinker.
Note: Both of the above beers need to have ice cream dropped into them on a hot day. I have not yet done that with either but I am 100% certain that it would be awesome in both.
Also if I haven’t said it in here yet, OB Pinner is awesome. I am a big fan of All Day IPA but pinner makes it taste watered down!
Grunion>Pinner>Easy Jack>All Day
I actually drank a “not your grandfather’s root beer” yesterday at the in laws because my brother in law was hyping it up! Enjoyed it.
its good to know that I’m not the only one who doesn’t love KBS.
I like EBC Blueberry and I tried some kind of raspberry beer on New Years that I also found quite delicious so I am not against flavored beers if done correctly. That said, I found Hell or High Watermelon to be VILE.
Tried it for the first time Thursday and didn’t like it at all. I don’t like coffee so I should have known. I could drink BCBS all day though. Probably still my favorite beer. I have one aging and one sitting in the fridge right now.
I only had Grunion once and don’t recall listing it highly like that. I will buy a 6’er and try again. Never had Easy Jack, who makes it?
Grunion is best on tap, but still very tasty in the bottle. I’ve been searching for a good session IPA and it’s the front runner so far. Carton Boat beer is excellent too, but draft only. Firestone Walker makes Easy Jack and it’s solid as well.
Lagunitas Day Time is my favorite session IPA at the moment.
I felt the same way until I had Firestone Easy Jack. It’s my go-to cleaning beer at work. Man, that is going to be tasty about 12 hours from now.
Other beer I recently tried that I like:
Westbrook One Claw Rye-PA
Well sip of sunshine on a 80 degree sunny day…doesn’t get much better.so drinkable, grapefruit and tropical fruits, sucks it’s so hard to get.easy to see why.
That sounds DELICIOUS!
