Yeah, but honestly, that’s how the majority of the sabres wins have been. Teams (and fans) are like “how the eff did insert team NOT win that game?”
The sabres seem to wait for an opportunity where they can capitalize, and they do it. Even if it means getting outplayed for 45 minutes. I mean look at the washington game, they played for a total of 10-15 minutes and the game was already over. All they had to do was keep 5 guys in the neutral zone and pound on anyone who crossed, but they still went for more. \
They’re passing really well and they know where the mesh is. So that’s all I need to make me happy 
don’t get me wrong, the team is hammering the puck into the net (a la most goals scored in the NHL), but on shit like tonight, its like we’re back in the hasek era where we’re relying too much on the goalie to bail us out
GRANTED, thats sabres hockey and thats always been sabres hockey
seriously, the sabres played like…3 minutes of the game tonight…30 seconds was the amazing break out and passing between max vanek and briere for the 1st goal, 10 seconds was vaneks deflection goal (b/c they looked like shit on the PP yet again), and a minute and 20 seconds when they were playing 4 on 4 between the end of the 2nd and the start of the 3rd…oh and i’ll give them the first 20 seconds of the game, b/c fuck they came out FLYING…then the whistle blew for something and it went downhill from there
back to that 4 on 4 tho…dear god we’re the best 4v4 team in the league…we absolutely dominate the ice no matter who we have out or who we’re playing…i think they said we made something like 30 passes in 17 seconds of 4v4 at the end of the 2nd and they looked DAMN good doing it
the scariest thought it, and i wanted to fucking hit the guy who called the post-game show and asked…he’s like “do you think its bad the sabres are peaking now?”
its like did you watch any games this season? we’re FAR from peaking…i have YET to see the sabres play 60 minutes of hockey
when we pull that feat off…holy shit…then we’re going to be SCARY GOOD…
omg, had to revisit this game…seriously, the LOUDEST ive EVER heard a buffalo sabres crowd ever…between the umberger blast and that goal, i still have never heard the arena (or the aud) that loud ever

Dont forget they had an amazing penalty kill, add those minutes to the game…yes Miller bails us out, but its not on the same level as the Hasek era, this team can at least score more than 1-2 goals per game.
edit: and yes I am sooo happy I got to go to that flyers game last year. Easily the loudest it has ever been in there. Shit I couldn’t hear myself talking! mmm such good times

the points of every team buffalo and anaheim played… kind of like a strength of schedule thing…
so far…
3239 = Anaheim for all 82 games
3314 = Buffalo for all 82 games
then If they won the game
i took the teams points and added them together…
so for Anaheim’s 28 wins they have 1085 through 40 games
and for buffalo’s 28 wins they have 1157 through 38 games
Then like college Quality points… I took The Goals For in the game they won, and subtracted them from goals against for that game. and multiplied that number by the number of points the team is worth and the results are… (losing jsut equals 0 points)
Buffalo = 2594.00
Anaheim = 2487.00
Next im gonna toss in something that will deduct points for losing… but idk what i’m gonna do yet…
some other teams that may be of interest…
Atlanta = 3318, 915, 1844.00 respectively

And for all of you crybabies who complain about announcers not giving enough respect to buffalo, the VS announcers today won’t shut the fuck about them. It’s seriously annoying. How can anyone actually WANT to hear their team being put on a pedestal like that?
That one save by miller was insane, and the rest of them were awesome saves as well. Vs. sucks but miller is insane lately

we’re spoiled because we have one of the best broadcast teams in hockey. In any other city the vs. guys are good.
