OFFICIAL Buffalo Sabres Thread

Crosby> any player on the Sabres
but
Sabres> Pens
i am surprised noone pointed out that for you to make this statement he has to have consistent play over the course of more than one season. i agree he looks to be shaping up into an awesome player, but to say he is better than anyone on the sabres is silly.

give me drury over crosby even without having a steady line of teamates supporting him…

Crosby had 102pts last season. He’s good…

I think crosby made his linemates better IMO

theyre good regardless, but he is a great help. theyre still a very young team too i believe malkin staal christensen and crosby are all under 20, so they should only get better.

its gonna be a buffalo/Pitt era…

Both teams should be good for a while

Well… tomorrow could be pretty fucking awesome…

► 04.04.2007: After missing 21 games with a broken left wrist, Afinogenov could be in the lineup Thursday night against Boston. According to Lindy Ruff, Maxim could be available for all three of the Sabres’ remaining games. Afinogenov’s recovery has gone better than expected. He practiced on Buffalo’s “fifth” line this past Monday with Tim Connolly and Clarke MacArthur. The winger said he’d like to get more range of motion in his wrist before returning to the lineup. Ruff said he looked and shot well. The Russian winger was cleared to use his wrist for stickhandling and shooting on Saturday.

04.04.2007: Tim Connolly says he’s ready, Lindy Ruff says he’s only at 80% and the team doesn’t want to rush him back too soon. Chances are Connolly won’t make his home debut until the playoffs but the center should be back in the lineup at some point this weekend. When he does return, his coach expects to use him 8-10

great news

i dont disagree. and i know i am harder on players as far as giving them credit. but two seasons to me doesnt warrant instant legendary status. i realize alot of people disagree with me but i dunno…i prefer to wait to give my approval. i am still not on the vanek bandwagon for example…not sure if i ever will be to be honest
Briere and Vanek arent even close to having a career like Mats, so holla back in about 10 years and lets see how they are doing.

Truth. But then again, how is having players that USED to be great going for you?

WGR was talking that tonight could be the night for max, Tim is ready and wants to come back too but its lindy’s call. I think tonight would be as good a night as any to put him in.

Center Tim Connolly has resumed practicing and could be used initially as a power-play specialist. Connolly has not played since getting a concussion during the playoffs last May; he broke a bone below his knee in February.

Allllllll riiiiiiight.

Watch the PP go from 12th to 2nd in the last few games

i am prepared to see what connolly can bring but i dont expect too much out of him. it will be awesome if he can shake the rust out and make a dif but i am not counting on it

L1: Jochen Hecht Daniel Briere Jason Pominville
L2: Thomas Vanek Derek Roy Drew Stafford
L3: Ales Kotalik Chris Drury Dainius Zubrus
L4: Daniel Paille Adam Mair Maxim Afinogenov

hoooooooooooray for max playing tonight

Hotness!

no timmy yet… should be tomorrow…

ugh… what a disgusting lineup with these two back… sweet lord…

zubrus, drury, kotalik
hecht, briere, pominville
vanek, roy, stafford
max, timmy, paille???

good god, any combination of those guys is disgusting… i popped wood…
