OFFICIAL Buffalo Sabres Thread

Espn Article on why the east will win

If the Sabres stay healthy, we could see one heck of a party on Chippewa Street.

Party? Please! Im gonna be afraid to walk in the streets. I really think things are gonna get scary if the Sabres win the cup.

I cannot wait for that party

actually hockey season is just getting interesting for me. now’s the time of year where i root for whatever team plays against Buffalo. so this is where it gets fun for me. FUCK YOU SABRES.

yet again, you prove yourself the wondrous bandwagon fan :headbang:

i was pulling for the mulchpile to make it to the playoffs…id get much more satisfaction of whomping them in the playoffs than the islanders…

Only six Presidents’ Trophy winners have gone on to win the Cup in the 20 years since the league began giving out the award.

Nice stat.

But I like this one much more:

Le Bold.

4 x 30 = success – The Buffalo Sabres finished the season with four 30-goal scorers in Thomas Vanek, Chris Drury, Daniel Briere and Jason Pominville. The last two teams to boast four 30-goal scorers have gone on to win the Stanley Cup.

For Espo:

Question?

What are the odds you can win it all when you are in a SIX TEAM LEAGUE???

Calculator says: 16.7 % chance.

Odds winning the Cup in a 30 team league: 3.3% chance.

Yeah, it was really tough winning Cups back then, wasn’t it?

Food For thought

Let us compare shall we…

Toronto - Original 6 Team
Buffalo - 1970 expansion team

Last Toronto Cup - 1966 -1967
Last Buffalo Cup - N/a

40 years since your last cup (Edit: Hence why I am not a Math Major)
37 years we haven’t won a cup

cup finals reached in that time… Buffalo 2 - Toronto 0

Enjoy golf season my friends to the north

^^ bro, the FACT of the matter is this and only this: How many Stanley Cup banners are hanging in Buffalo? 0. How many are hanging in Toronto? 1. so…STFU.

umm there wernt very many teams in the league when they won it…much harder to get a cup nowadays. and i wasn’t living in 67…were you? I live in the now

Arguing about who has more cups/last time a team has been to the finals is super fucking gay. How many players are still on the Buffalo Sabres that made it to the finals in 99? Players come and go, rules change and coaches are hired and fired.

I don’t even understand why we are talking about the goddamn Maple Leafs in a Sabres thread. The playoffs are about to start, the Sabres are in and the Leafs are out, and everyone wants to argue about which franchise has been better in the past 40 years.

It really is pathetic to see you cling to that.

We didn’t exsist when you won that, therefor YOU DIDN’T BEAT US TO WIN THAT CUP. It means nothing to the Sabres.

^^i never said we beat the Sabres to win the cup.

04.09.2007: The news just keeps getting better for the Buffalo Sabres on the injury front. As we reported over a month ago, Paul Gaustad’s recovery is well ahead of schedule. Our optimistic reports back then stated the Sabres’ centerman could be back as soon as the Conference Finals. In recent days, Gaustad was cleared to remove the protective boot he has been wearing. Gaustad told MSG Saturday afternoon that he could return to light-skating duties in the very near future. Various media reports over the weekend even went as far as saying a return in the second round might be possible for Goose.

.

Holy opposite of last year. I heard this the other day and was almost floored cause everyone said he was done till next year. I wonder who is gonna get the random infection this year.

Hmmm… so where would Goose go?

I’m assuming 4th line, with Timmy and Stafford. Mair being the odd man out.

no stafford is coming back up for the playoffs!

i will have it no other way

stafford was brought back as of monday

goose works well with mair. i would have to say paille.

tough decisions…which mkaes it all the more positive going into the playoffs.
