i think it sounds a lot worse then it is. calling it a suspension is kind of misleading. Anaheim just did it too, with niedermayer and selanne, until they decided if they were going to retire or not.
Its not like the team is turning their back on him. But, if it is true that they are not going to do anything with the cap space, then i agree that its dumb.
Guys, they aren’t at the cap. Golisano has said multiple times that they aren’t going to spend to the cap. It’s not a cap thing.

and i believe after paying vanek 7.14 a year and roy 4.5 we’re pretty close to the cap, esp since we have to pay all those other guys too
