WGR’s Paul Hamilton is reporting that injured defenseman Teppo Numminen did not take the morning skate at the RBC Center in Raleigh, NC. Hamilton said the skate was not optional.
There are no reports that defenseman Jay McKee, who is sick with the flu, has arrived in Raleigh yet. McKee’s agent, Pat Morris, told the Howard Simon Show he expects No. 74 to travel to the game, and make every effort to play.
…so far so good…
now we just need to confirm when he shows up in NC
He’s going to play. McKee is a real warrior, no way he lets the flu keep him out of a game 7. You can’t survive a season being the NHL’s top shot blocker only to be taken out by the damn flu.
Eh, regarding Teppo… At this point, I’d be happier to see him behind the bench in a suit to be there for the team than playing.
His abilities are severely limited at this point due to his injury, and with this being the 7th HIGH intensity hockey game in 14 days, they need all the fully able bodies back on that d-line. Carolina’s hard 3rd period push on Tuesday was due to pure exhaustion by the Sabres and he basically 4 man defensive core that was playing that game.
I don’t think Teppo can be a difference maker player at this point in his injury, but behind the bench, his presence would be important.
i can completely see it being a leg infection after all these blocked shots…that would be HORRIBLE for this team…fuck team teppo, we lose mckee and we are up shits creek in a BIG way…
if Mckee doesnt play casue of the “flu” he’s straight up bitchmade. gotta be WAY worse than that. the guy blocks a gazillion shots but yet the flu is gonan keep him out of the most importat game of his life? i dont think so.
