I’m in a cutting cycle, trying to lose BF, while maintaining muscle mass. Reduced calorie count and starving myself isnt going to get me there. by doing keto, i switch my metabolism to run on fat, vs glycogen. So i wouldnt really say im doing a fad diet. there is a set start date and end date, and once im off this im switching to marathon training… hellllllo complex carbs…
I have heard that eating breakfast is good because your body “shuts down” if it thinks it will not be getting nutrients. I have also heard heavier people typically skip breakfast. I am not a morning person so I really don’t take the time to get a good breakfast. This needs to change I guess.
I can’t skip breakfast, I love making a huge breakfast and feeling energetic all day. I usually have a salad for lunch and a small portion of whatever for dinner
thank god. i am sick of taking the yolks out(yokes are for bison). The banana and granola bar are something simple I can eat on the way to the gym without any preparation. going on an empty stomach does not work. I am really into cereal, so Im going to do 3 eggs and a bowl of raisin bran crunch or frosted mini wheats.
People who do the many small meals a day thing…how do you manage to not spend your whole life fucking starving? If I try that I’m hungrier half an hour after one than if I hadn’t ate at all. I actually am hungrier at dinner time if I eat lunch than if I skip it. People bitch about “starve and stuff” eating but 1200 calories of good food at one time and a satisfied feeling after for the rest of the night > 3000 calories of filler all day that leave you constantly hungry.
thats because your metabolism slows down when not eating. plus when you eat huge like that it stretches your stomach. smaller meals will allow it to shrink, giving you a fuller feeling.
well the point is to get the nutrients you need while allowing your body to grow
i wouldnt be eatting filler foods if i wasnt working out, you’ll lose weight by just sticking to low calories
it took me almost a week of eating not enough to “fill” me at breakfast for my body to get used to it. At that point you can eat as much as you want of the same shit
like on my diet, you can eat as many low carb meals as you want until you’re full. Your stomach is “full” but you’re not getting 800billion carbs that you now have to use as energy, which then turn to fat/waste.
If you cannot burn the 3000 calories, don’t take them in
eh fuck it, I have a condition that makes insurance cover it, when I can’t take eating 1200cal a day any more i’ll get gastric bypass. I’ll be the typical american for a change.
Every breakfast I have a protein shake and take a gnc mega mens vitamin. Lunch is usually pizza or a sub or some fast food. Dinner is something half way decent like pasta or chicken. Been leaning out lately but I’m sure that’s due mostly to walking about 6 hours a day
