Coffee is good for you. It is full of antioxidants (some studies say more than green tea) and soluble fiber. Ever notice how you have to shit within an hour or so of drinking a cup or two of coffee?
BUT sugar is bad for you, and creamer is full of fat and calories and so should be kept in moderation. Most people load their coffee with cream and sugar.
ALSO, if you drink more than a couple of cups a day you will see your blood pressure go up, you’ll get jittery, and you’ll start sleeping like shit and we all know that
Inadequate sleep:
•interferes with the body’s ability to metabolize carbohydrates and causes high blood levels of glucose, which leads to higher insulin levels and greater body-fat storage.
•drives down leptin levels, which causes the body to crave carbohydrates.
•reduces levels of growth hormone–a protein that helps regulate the body’s proportions of fat and muscle.
•can lead to insulin resistance and contribute to increased risk of diabetes
•can increase blood pressure
•can increase the risk of heart disease
So have a cup or two a day, but don’t go overboard.
Although you probably meant to say it but didn’t. It’s most likely the caffeine in the coffee that causes the problems listed. Or at least most of them. Caffeine being a diuretic will cause your body to leach water and that can cause many health problems right there.
never saw this thread, but i’m in two weightloss pools that go from jan 1 thru april 1 where you have to lose 10% of your weight so i got semi-motivated…
started at 200, currently down to 177.
Basically i stopped drinking beer except for one night a week and drink a single (full to the brim of course) glass of red wine, which really equates to three normal sized glasses, and grey goose martinis…
then on the food side, no snacking whatsoever, no processed food stuff, less bread/more wraps. Also substitued out mayo/oil for hummus/guacamole, which actually has led to some nice meal discoveries.
Not sure which of the above practices has contributed more, but I still don’t excersize at all and have lost 23 lbs in less than 2 months so at least one of those things is doing a lot :gotme:
i’ve gotten much better compared to how i was when i started… i think substantially increasing my B complex intake has helped…
but yea, when i first started i wanted to murder newborn puppies for no reason. working out everyday and getting those endorphins is prolly the only reason i made it so long.
But yea, results were pretty good.
edit: my alcohol tolerance went to shit though, i was so pumped for beer by friday that every friday night turned into a shitshow and i paid for it all saturday, and had to return to being lame on sunday.
You will find if you’re counting your GL’s a lot of the foods can be interchanged on your keto meals, at this point im more or less counting GL’s now…
i guess the only positive thing about having the stomach flu for the past 2 days is that i didnt take in about 4500 calories and i now have abs lol :roflpicard:
My GF and I do this. Everything is prepared at home. Rarely do we used processed foods. It’s tough at first but then you just end up making a good amount of food and taking leftovers for lunch. We save a good amount of money doing this.
ahh, gotcha. yea, ive moved onto something like that as well. trying to time the complex carbs as much as possible, and work in fruits and such where i can. trying to avoid anything after 8PM carb related.
