lol so AT&T Verizoned me. The refurbed phone is worse than the first one. Still can’t install mail for exchange, maps, or the app store (which is pretty much everything you do with a smart phone) but the vibrator is broken on the new one.
They’re sending me one more and put a note on my account that if my problems aren’t fixed to exchange it for a similar make/model. Not sure what that would be. I’ll try to talk them into an iphone or a Bold so that I can flip it, but they’re probably not comparable. Hopefully I’ll at least be able to get a backflip and get my feet wet in the Android kiddie pool.
Target markets. I guess they figured why spend more on a nice resolution screen when phones like BBs and iPhones are doing great without them. And if they want to hit a specific price point they need to cut somewhere; this is going to be under $500 after all.
Yeah, good point. Most good marketing decisions tend to disappoint tech savvy consumers. Hell the shitty ass world conquering iphone is still rocking a silly 480x320 screen. If you asked most iphone owners they’d probably think it’s just a matter of fact that it’s the best screen on the market. I mean most of them think it was the first touch screen phone…
Score. Since I couldn’t install the ovi store or nokia maps and they sent me two replacement e71x’s that were the same, they’re upgrading me to a refurbed Bold 9700 for free! :awdrifter: So that shitberry is getting sold and I’m buying an E72 with the money. Goodbye all the shit I didn’t like about the e71x. Goofy at&t firmware, 2.5mm headset jack, slow processor, shitty camera…
I couldn’t install mail for exchange, ovi store, or nokia maps. Exchange, the app store, and a native maps program is really 90% of the point of a smart phone. They were able to fix the MFE problem because it was their program, but the other two just don’t work on the e71x anymore (try it. Hard reset your shit. It won’t install anymore) so they couldn’t help me and could only offer a new phone.
No key phrases, just the general attitude that my phone wouldn’t do what a smartphone needs to do.
So I’ve had my e72 for about a week now… This thing is spectacular. Camera is really good, there is a front facing camera, it screams with the 600mhz processor with a ton of apps open, build quality is still top notch, music quality is fixed (no more hiss), the battery would probably last a week if I wasn’t listening to internet radio, the OS does everything right as opposed to that stupid ass e71x AT&T abomination.
