I just saw this thread… awesome stuff. Thanks guys, been wanting some new stuff for my E71x.
Nevermind to free voice guided navi from ovi maps. They prompt you to buy it after the first turn.
I just torrented garmin XT when I wanted turn by turn. Doesnt even need data coverage
is Garmin XT a pay service now? must have missed the free deal since all the links are dead.
you have to :snky: download it.
think you can zip and email it? no torrent here, i quit when Kazaa lite got weak.
I found a couple of Garmin XT torrents. They installed OK, but wouldn’t run. I’ll have to spend some time fucking with it. Spam do you have the e71x too? If so I’ll pass along whatever I figure out. I can’t believe how much at&t crapped up this phone…
yup, E71x, yeah running into that too…
got Nokia messaging running. i like the look and such, but xpressmail had better sync options like weekend vs workday sync timing so it doesn’t go off in the night ect, that’s my only gripe. i used the E75 file (s60 v3.2), you gotten mail for exchange to work? or been able to sync your contacts from gmail?
No luck there. Haven’t spent much time on it though. Although I do intend to get MFE working with google and google working with facebook. That way events from facebook will automatically sync to google and then in turn to my cell calendar. Why the fuck isn’t there a facebook app for this thing?
no facey space here… so that’s one less thing to worry about.
Weird. I’ve had no luck so far with Garmin XT, but just for kicks I clicked on the Shop GPS shortcut under AT&T GPS and downloaded Mapquest Navigator. It didn’t charge me anything, and it didn’t warn me about any fees, and now it’s giving me turn by turn directions.
I wonder if it’s a 7 day trial or if they snuck a fee past me or something…
EDIT: It was a 5 day trial. Prompted me to buy a subscription yesterday. Shit didn’t work that well. No way I’m paying for it. Now to get a 7 day trial of Ovi Maps premium services working so I can find my way back to the Kansas City airport later this week…
lol so Apple just filed a countersuit against Nokia… but I can’t find anywhere what Apple claims the patent infringements are…

Just found an official Facebook app for the E71/E71x/E72 on Ovi. Doesn’t integrate with the phone’s address book or calendar like it does on BB, but still gives a much easier to use interface than the mobile Facebook site.

In case you haven’t found it yet, there is now an Ovi app store app too. Just go to ovi.mobi with your media net browser.
ok josh this is more directed to you. is the N900 really gunna come to T-mobile. im reading alot saying it will never happen and i dont wanna spend 650 for a phone but i hear others saying jan 2010 or in the first quarter. set me straight
There hasn’t been an official announcement, and T-Mobile likes to keep tight-lipped on this stuff, but there have been fillings with the FCC and the device has included T-Mobile 3G bands in the US. They’d be silly to design a phone to work in the US on a specific 3G network and not offer it subsidized.
My guess is sometime late 1st quarter.
yea i have a 2 line upgrade now, im trying to wait and getting 2 of these and selling one
LOL nice job nokia. :bigblap: I got prompted to upgrade PC Suite to Ovi Suite 2 this morning, so I figured I’d give it a try. Ovi Suite 2 crashes. As in, it won’t run. At all. :bloated: This is on my work laptop running WinXP Pro.
Anyhow, I stopped using Nokia Messaging for my email. The interface was nice but only being able to keep the last 3 days of email on my phone wasn’t cutting it. Instead I just setup mail for exchange with gmail. Now I still get push email but I can keep however many messages in sync that I want. Also sync my calendar with google calendar and contacts too.
Oh, and I finally figured out that the e71x is set by default to only keep 30 sent text messages. You can set it as high as 999 if you want your conversations to make sense.
