Official:Nyspeed 06-07 Snowmobile Thread

I rode down in Allegheny State Park yesterday and the conditions were awesome. No washboards…groomed trails and groomed roads all over. Very easy to top the sleds out on the long roads. Today, I’m headed out to Chestnutt Ridge to dick around with the sled…my friend stopped out there earlier and said it looked like good riding condtions.

i dident go out ll weekend :frowning:

i will this week though if we have some snow

colden sucks the trails are toast from everyone the other day the ridge isnt to bad theres alot of wash boards the way there but thats about it

Just got back…I’ve seen worse conditions, but yes, Colden trails were pretty beat. Chestnutt Ridge was really nice though.

colden blows all of the time unless there is 3feet of snow…everyone and there grandma beat the shit outta colden.

i just got back now from a ride in lancaster to akron…actually not to bad out

anyone wanna ride in the am in op? pm me if your intrested

pm here in lancaster/alden area

If anyone doesn’t mind a little bit of a drive, the riding is AMAZING in the Mayville and lake Chautaqua area. Put on 196 miles this weekend. Everything was groomed with over 2 feet of snow on the ground. It was a complete white-out for the last half of Sunday, and I had over 10 inches of new snow on my truck to brush off when leaving. The groomers have the base so solid - it would probably take 10 days of 50 degree weather to melt it!

I will post pics up of the riding soon.

i was out in that area yesterday. trails near bemus point were pretty crappy. got a chance to ride up to stockton and they got real nice up there. drive home SUCKED. left around 7pm, fucking whiteout is right.

can you let me know where you went? I do you need any pass or anything?

i went out right near long point park and rode ummmm, west, out to stockton. it wasnt very far. about a 20 minute ride. i was on my gf’s father’s sled. it was only my second time riding, but it was fun as hell. im also rather daring and was def going outside my comfort zone a lot, but thats the only way to get better right?

but yea, he is in the snowmobile club out there and hes really involved. i can probably answer your questions by asking him.

If you get off the thru-way on exit 60 - and take route 394 east that will take you into Mayville. It is about 8 miles off of the thru-way. Once you get into the city, there is a huge area along the lake where you can park and ride. They sell maps at most of the area bars. There are also a few hotels right in that area in case you wanted to do an overnight thing.

Let me know if you need any more info.

yeah we take exit 59 out there, little shortcut

thats 1 sexy REV!

no thats an easy way to get yourself hurt. Riding within personal limits is the way to go, blasting through woods there are many hidden surprises. roaring across an unfamiliar field too fast, not good either. I remember back when i would ride 500 miles a year. there were always stories of people being decapitated, just watch out, and if you are going too fast. slow down, better to be a man about it then, say lose your life

trust me you have nothing to impress being a first time rider. its ok to be a first timer be safe cause the sleds now adays are to unforgiving just the other day i rolled my sled and ive been riding for over 10 years. i got stupid on a unknown trail and fucked up.

crazylt1 watch out putting your numbers on the tunnel they ticket big time for it being there they say it needs to be on the hood in 2 visable places along with the reg stickers. not that i care but just givin u a heads up if you run into the law on the trails. btw nice rev almost bought one this year

where did you go riding our trails dont look that nice around here

i know my limits man. theres a difference between going a little outside the comfort zone and going outside ur limits.

its not like i ran out onto open fields and just pinned down the gas, lol. the fastest i went all day was around 60mph on open fields. prolly 15-20 in the wooded areas at most. from what i understand, thats not all that fast. or maybe im wrong. all in all, i had a ton of fun. i wasnt trying to impress anyone. i was out trying to have a good time and go on a bit of an adventure. i hope to get out again soon.

good to know 15-20 isnt that bad at all for comfy trail riding
