True. Unless its a “she” then we improvise haha

I heard that you can bring the reciept for your passport with you and that will work for a little while.

Alrighty, finally pulled data. Click on an image for a much bigger sized version.

I’ve heard nothing good about the HP+'s for track use and the track day guys over at ls1gto.com are really happy with the performance of the EBC yellows.

A lot of people run HP+s … any of the three pads is really a compromise solution, but I think there might be an issue with heavier cars/hotter brakes with HP+s. Let us know how you like EBCs- my heavy BMW seemed to do ok on DS2500s.

Someone on NYspeed said the EBC yellows crumbled, they were used on an srt4, don’t remember who

EBC = garbage (personal experience with green and red, hearsay re: yellows).

I think the DS2500s blow the HP+ out of the water - they last longer, have better release characteristics and only cost marginally more. The DS3000 is better than ANYTHING Hawk that I’ve driven (and I’ve gone through a lot, from Blue 9012 to HT10 to DTC60/70).

We’ll see how they do at the track day. I know EBC had some issues a few years back with some real shitty stuff but they seem to have that resolved. I’d rather go with the EBC yellows that several people who have tracked their GTO’s liked than something else other people have tracked on different cars. The GTO is a pig when it comes to weight so what worked on a 350z may work much differently on a GTO.

If I’m not happy with the yellows the DS2500’s will be my next pads.

EDIT:
My first track day in the GTO I was on stock pads, rotors and fluid. This time I’ll be on EBC Yellows, DBA 4000 rotors and ATE super blue fluid. If anything it has to be BETTER even if not ideal yet. With the stock setup I got about 5 laps before I had to start backing off to conserve the brakes.

on forums for cars that don’t make the best track cars people tend to all group behind a random brake product with no science to the choice other than the first person liked it (without any comparison)

My buddy put EBC reds on his 08 WRX and after a day at WGI they were completely toast. So at least keep an eye on them throughout the day, and bring the stock pads with you just in case.

^ Yellows are more of a track pad than reds.

But yeah, I’ll have my street pads (HPS) with me as well.

bump for 2 weeks away!

who’s excited???

<— this guy.

too much information, this is a family forum!

Oh hey!!!

So…Looks like the e30 will be there.
Need to do tires and maybe pads/rotors.

Been driving it the past few days.
Two new wheel bearings and an exhaust and it is doing better.

Sadly, I won’t be joining you guys.

I said that, it was McMoo’s SRT-4. The EBC yellow rears crumbled after something like 2 days.

:frowning:

1 week away!

Bing will be running the track day, and Cassie said she’ll be helping since I’ll be spending that Saturday on an airplane.

god help us.
