frig those laps were awesome…
the first time the pace car ripped up past the 3 guys in the back and was FREAKING out on me at like 50mph because i was swerving to get some heat into the tires… mind you, i think it was justified because it was still a bit damp out, the tires were slick and i didnt know the track…
and on the last lap Mike make ALOT of room for Moffit and I to kill off some corners… i got up over 170kph, so about 110mph and got some serious time in…
they switched things up a bit the second time around to keep us from doing that (they were not happy with me and Mike) but our contact at The Glen really led a hard couple parade laps… i really could not have gone faster than that if the track were clear… the track is a bit much for my S14…
still, very awesome.

looking forward to more lapping and more golf tomorrow.
dinner was good too… on the water in some random town… hotel WIFI is more than passable.

there was a race prepped 80’s volvo in the corral with us and he was behind me on the parade laps… he and his crew came up afterwards to ask me about the S14 and to say that they were not expecting to move that quickly on the parade laps… we reached his full race speed at abotu 110mph and they couldnt keep up with me in the Ess’s…
i see that no one has discussed the incident on the track as of yet… i’ll let someone else break the news.
If anyone is interested, the race is on ABC right now. Look for us on the inside of turn 11 right before the straight. :tup:

This was a LOT of fun, save for I think I picked up allergies on the last day/the way home? That or I’m getting a cold, which was not pleasant to say the least.
Sunday in particular was just too beautiful to be true. You could not ask for a more perfect day for racing. Three full course cautions was a little annoying, but no control over that I suppose. Indy Racing League Ministries? Come on now.
