Only the coolest of the cool showed up so…
I’d rather hang out with a small group of awesome people than a huge group of questionable people I don’t even know ANY day.
I went to the fbod BBQ. It was an great.
Laid back atmosphere and nice guys.
Newman. I’m sorry you think it’s a bunch of bros that haven’t grown up.
Also, the average age of the gathering was higher than most nyspeed meets I’ve been to but that’s kinda joelsters fault…
I am sorry that we had 100s of people at our BBQ. Everyone who came had fun. Just like every year we have had it. Sorry nobody at our meets wants to watch you hop on a rope or do “rad” shit. You don’t have to talk shit about a bunch of car enthusiast who enjoy a good time. Lol @ burnouts being lame but that is what all of you biters were into last year.
“but my maturity level must have changed”
RIGHT!!!
Oh you guis.
Seriously though, I would’ve went to the WNY Fbody Meet had I been off that off. I’m game for either because I know people from both boards. Who gives a shit, if it sounds like a good time, I’d go. If it sounds like I’ll get herpes, I’ll go.
Wait, no.
On the herpes bit.
Heaters are still siqqqqqqq but at the right place and right time. The middle of Letchworth was neither hence my douchehat comment.
:gotme:
Honestly, who cares? No one is happy unless there is something to bitch about/criticize.
I think that you tend to over-do your meets. Keep it simpler and you’ll get more participation. Find a park, reserve a shelter, announce it, and that’s it.
There were lots of awesome people at the WNYFbody bbq. Lots of nice cars too.
I’m old I know, lol. I do my part to bring the average up! We can’t have it be a “young” meet! I got my friend Matt to go, with his son (16) and his sons grandpa, and right there we brought the average up 2-3 years.
Exactly. I have to remind myself sometimes that this site is a car site.
So the debate is which is cooler?
Driving over the speed limit on back roads vs doing burn outs?
Well, I may have grown up a LITTLE.
But at any maturity level I still enjoy getting people squawking with just one sentence.
Carry on.
You don’t troll like you used to though.
I still think the funniest was when the kid with the god awful neon or whatever it was tried to chase you down after you drove by his house. Great example of effective trolling.
Funny how this thread:
http://www.nyspeed.com/showthread.php?157636-UPDATED-2010-NYSpeed-Spring-Meet-amp-BBQ!-Sunday-May-2nd./page8&highlight=burnouts
Was all about the NYSpeed meet people defending burnouts in a public park. Start around post 200 or so.
This made me chuckle. The burnout issue, especially…ahh, the more things change around here, the more they are EXACTLY the same as ever…
So really what I’ve gathered on this thread now is that people are trying to put this cruise down because of the lack of people. Honestly, this cruise was a fucking blast. All back roads that required cars to not be slammed to the ground or they would bottom out a lot. Hence the lack of people as well (they bailed part way through the cruise)
As for the Fbody guys, you are all talking a big game and never came out to this meet yet still post on this forum. Why are you talking shit about a meet setup by the forum admin yet you couldnt partake in the fun we had.
Also noted is that Fbody cruise I believe was done when people were still out of school, still the summer…etc. not the beginning of a semester and not the end of summer/beginning of spring where people are closing things up and needing to take time to get ready for winter.
Also the tires being smoked are not from my doing burnouts. I just drive the car hard and like to get the ass end sideways around turns. To me, thats more fun than standing still spinning tires. (my own personal opinion) Burnouts are easy, take a turn and kick a car sideways and not spin out.
So really my question is, why didnt any Fbody guys go for a cruise with us down to Letchworth? I’m guessing because of weight and suspension setup that they wouldnt be able to handle the speeds and roads we were taking. IDk, I’m sure they could have but none bothered to show it.
My 4,098# SUV handled the speed and I definitely did not have any clearance issues. An F-bod could have done it easily.
I don’t know why you’re still stuck on the participation numbers.
Our goal has never been to bring out record numbers of people but rather to do something fun, different and automotive related as evidenced by nearly every single meet we’ve ever organized.
It should be painfully obvious that choosing a park that’s 1+ hour away and then adding on a 2+ hour cruise that goes completely out of the way is certainly going to limit participation… but maybe that was the point… :oj:
Irony not found. Newman wasn’t there. Those saying the burnouts in a park were cool haven’t changed their opinions. I wasn’t there when they occurred and afterwards moved our meets to Lancaster, rented the burnout box and smoked tires until sunset to avoid this situation again.
Unless there was another point you were trying to make? :gotme:
Not sure what the debate is over
Someone said if they want to see burn outs goto a WNY fbody meet
Then people proceeded to post videos from multiple years of WNY fbody meets with burn outs
Not to mention the burn out box the past few years at nyspeed meets
You people get trolled so easily
It’s got to be abortion…
My fetus thing went off.
