I’m up for whatever. I’ll be there.
If a cruise / park type meet is arranged, I think that I will donate food to help get lots more people out.
If it is a track event this is a bit harder, so I will just show up. I don’t get my new car until August.
Anyone see any conflict with Sunday July 8th? Will people still be out of town for the 4th of July holiday? The 4th is on a Wednesday this year and I know some people will take a really long weekend.

Jeremy / Mike, what do you guys think about this setup? I’m just trying to make it a tad more interesting and utilize the section of the track right in front of the grandstands. That way those sitting in the stands are closer to the action.
The black line is a wall that already exists, the blue lines would be formed by the large foam blocks:
I’ll be out of town
is the track still extremely bumpy? I remember doing laps with the Formula back in the day and it sucked lol
yes the track is insanely bumpy. i dont even think i would make it without bottoming out unless i raised my car up an inch or so
we raced the late model there this past weekend. ride heights were an INCH higher than we run at Lake Erie in PA, which is a newer smoother track and the car still bottomed out and did some damage.
so anyone with a slammed or lowered car might want to crank some turns in your coilovers before you try it out.
specifically turns 1 and 3 are the worst
not shooting down the idea, i think it would be awesome. but its not a friendly track to drive on lol
Yeah, we found that out during the drifting last year. But maybe it’s worse? Are those areas avoidable given the course map I posted above or can we modify the course map to avoid those areas?
Lake Erie Speedway is almost twice the price unfortunately.
yea I wasn’t shooting it down just something to be aware of if your STANCED :-p
Well 1 week earlier (July 1st) and people might already be starting to leave for their 4th of July destinations, and one week after (July 15th) is feasible but it’s a week before the XDC event.

Yeah the drift cars (kinda low) last year didn’t have an issue with bottoming out as much as they had an issue with the track eating through tires.

I’ve added a poll and included the 29th. Those dates are basically all of the Sundays in July except for the Sunday after the XDC event for obvious reasons. I voted for all of them so I’m impartial, lol.
Used the Nascar turns 1-4…
More runoff room the better Turn 5/9 and Turn 8/1.
Do they still have the movable Styrofoam walls?
Turn 5 I’d say minimum 50 feet of runoff of the “race line” 1st blue Styrofaom wall another 50 feet of “buffer” then Turn 9 green Styrofoam wall.
So in either direction you’d have a minimum of 100 feet of paved runoff before going across track. (150 feet before going of one “raceline” and getting into a second)
Make the entry to Turn 1 wide to give Turn 8 more runoff.
Sure it might not be the highest quality track, nor the best hairpin turn, but it is local and still would be fun.
Of course I missed that the black wall was solid :ham:
Don’t hold up the entire thing for me, I wont be driving or racing anything in it anyways. just sayin im out of town.
You can’t have head on traffic headed at each other with only foam blocks between them.
Can I stand on the inside of the track? lol
I agree, but the speed into the apex of both Turn 5 and Turn 9 would be so slow that 150 feet of paved runoff should be sufficient. The only other thing is squeeze down (with cones) going into both 5 and 9 to reduce entry speed even more.
Until someone has a brake failure, or locks up, and goes straight on after a straight away or higher speed banked oval. It wouldn’t work.
Historically, holiday w/e’s are usually bad for meets, I’ve noticed. Just fyi…
Or we chicane it towards the end with foam blocks (turns 4-5 on your map.)
I think things could be mitigated even more simply by limiting the number of cars on track to 3 or 4 max. If we tech cars like we did at Dunnville and make sure to go out on instructor laps with n00bs that will help too.
The only spot I’d be concerned about are turns 4-5 as mentioned above. The rest of the track isn’t going to be fast due to the size of the inner section and the conditions of the pavement.
Since this track sucks, can I run one of my SUV’s?
I don’t care what you run as long as it passes tech. If you flip it while everyone is watching there will be some LOLs.
This reduces the “heads onsy ness”.
Turn 5 turn Styrofoam wall or cones to make turn in really wide which move runoff away from Turn9. Break in wall to allow runoff into dragstrip
Styrofoam Chicane going into Turn 9 to create a tight slow line, try to get runoff parallel with the Styrofoam wall (not into).
I still can’t make a GREAT argument, because I still can’t get more than 150 feet between the two lines.
I still favor the original “kidney bean” course because it should be smoother, the Turn 9 might be a bottle neck.
