I feel bad for everyone that works in the health care industry right now. My mom’s an ICU nurse and even she has issues with people thinking they have it.

While the news does sensationalize everything this is a serious issue.
It’s getting major attention of health organizations and governments for a couple key diffences it has with normal flu.
- The is no vaccine for swine flu.
- The people drying in Mexico are the exact people who should be LEAST succeptible to flu; young healthy people.
- The virus has mutated, because it’s not supposed to be possible for it to be passed from person to person. Because of this no one knows for sure how quickly it could spread.
Should you be rioting and panicing, no. However, you also shouldn’t be just dismissing this as some over hyped news story spot because you read some wiki about how many people die from normal flu.
So I should put my shotgun down, but do I take the boards off my windows? Meh, im still not worried.

In the 1970’s the swine flue was all the rage too. Everyone screamed PANDEMIC! So, they issues forced vaccinations.
In the end 1 person died from the flue and 25 from the vaccinations before they canceled the program.

I won’t laugh yet. The Flu pandemic which killed about 50,000,000 people in 1918 started out similarly to this flu. It came on strong, weakened within a week and then two months later spread like wildfire killing everyone.
The weak virus hits everyone and it is “not severe” until that one person which it mutates a little more and becomes deadlier occurs… and then… BAM! BAM! It’s Emeril Flu time! Spice it up!
I will wait to see if that happens before totally dismissing this thing.
