«OFFICIAL» Watercraft / Jet Ski / PWC Thread + Boats

Added boats to the thread title because it makes sense to have one thread for all.

I just want the water to get a little bit warmer

Come out to Kinzu lake this summer, usually perfect

I’m in. I’m not familiar with the lake so give me a heads up when you’ll be there

Just out of curiosity, where do you run your vessel getting speeds like that? What are the water conditions? I usually make max jam runs on the west river. It’s always flat and calm there. I’m on a PWC, so you can’t really hammer down when there’s any chop out.

It just takes me a minute or two to get over here from my slip. Its not glass by any means, but the break wall helps keep the big rollers from forming so I have been running it there for speed tests and its been pretty uncongested over there.

Be careful doing speed runs there. I launched my boat out of the water making a top speed run in that same place because a mid sized cruiser must have gone out through that middle gap and I didn’t see his huge wake until I was right on top of it. Luckily my boat tops out around 50 but it was still completely out of the water.

:whisper:…

Don’t want to end up like this:

I usually can get a good run on the ski right up near the break wall. Just watch out for the birds. I had one last year Come my way…Took Him out

Get’s me every time… dude is so lucky that throttle was pulled back when he fell or that would have gotten so much worse.

I’m currently at Erie Basin Marina and the water is about 60 degrees and the area is really busy with boat traffic. A few skis out there too.

@SOLITUDE just outside the inlet in the break wall (lake side) is an area where, if a boat goes through at speed, a standing wave forms. In the right conditions it will just sit there in the same spot. Had fun with that last year  @JayS you’re talking about a wave inside the wall or outside the wall?

@almostBrett did you get anything to tow people with on your ski?

Onyx, do you have a slip here? I’m heading back in a little bit.

Inside. In hindsight I know what happened. A good sized cruiser left Erie Basin and puttered out to the mid gap probably half on plane so he could make the biggest wake possible like every idiot with a cruiser does. By the time I came blasting along he was long gone but his big rolling waves weren’t.

I like those idiots in cruisers.

Josh, you ever take yours down to the lower river? The jet boats make really nice roller waves when they go by.

I don’t mind a couple, but it sucks when there are so many of them in the river on a weekend that it’s not even worth going out.

Pic looks great

Nope, no slip for me this year. I’m at RCR frequently with friends though and we’ll sail past there, etc.

Ah, yeah I actively look for those rollers, lol.

Lower as in southern most part of the river or lower elevation near the falls?

Nothing beats nature though. There was a day last year that we were out and it was so wavy that I couldn’t get back on my ski, lol. I reached up to the throttle and dragged my body through the water and back through the gap. Once back on I turned around and headed back out

Head to the lake! Plenty of room there and much less crowded. Try filling up a tiny jetski with fuel on the river while those cruisers constantly pass by…

Sucks the weather hasn’t really allowed the water to heat up much the last couple weeks. The way it was going, I thought for sure I’d be out on the water by now.

Ill be honest, part of me can’t wait to get back on a sled though. Lol

Im goin out tomorrow and friday hopefully!

Finally putting this in Sunday after owning it almost 2 years. Just doing the Ontario thing first. If it runs well, maybe do a trip to Irondequoit.

May actually go to the marina to look at my jetski for the first time in about 8 months.
