Lifeproof makes these for phones and tablets http://www.lifeproof.com/shop/us_en/lifeproof-lifejacket-float-for-fre-iphone-5-case/

Score!! I am going to order that this weekend lol

A little update on my '89 Sea Doo…

When I got the machine, I went out and bought a bunch of stuff…brand new battery, spark plugs, oil, fuel, a couple life jackets, and all the needed items to be legal on the water, etc. So then I simple greened the entire hull/motor, and installed all the new parts. Now came the time to fire it up…only to find that my motor was locked…bummer…

My next step was to remove the plugs, and spray a couple little shots of wd40 down the cylinders…I did this once per day for 4 days…and then let it sit for another 4 days…

At that point, I removed the prop. shaft cover, and grabbed a hold of the prop and gave it a crank…it moved a bit…and then a bit more…and so on…and then I went to start it…and it spun freely! But no start…

After some guidance from Onyx and Solitude (thanks a bunch), I soldiered on…

Verified good compression (125-130 in each cyl.), good spark…but no fuel…and that is where I am at now…

My plan is to take Friday off, and disassemble the fuel system and see if I can once and for all get this thing running…

Will keep you all posted…

You know you have my best wishes.

Nice. You should make a thread or at least post some pics in here. I’m intrigued!

@91MR2 - try and find a carb rebuild kit. They’re not expensive and it’s a bit more peace of mind. The only other causes of no fuel that I can think of at the moment would be a clog somewhere in a line or the in-line filter.

Also try to turn the fuel line from ‘ON’ to ‘RESERVE’ and try starting it then. Maybe the ‘ON’ line is clogged.

Either way you can’t be that far from getting it to run

@HouseS2K - That’s awesome but they don’t make one for my phone. I tested my GPS today and it wasn’t shutting off due to low batteries but rather the batteries being knocked around. I may have to mount it somehow.

anchor marine had something like this that allows you to still use your phone through the case.
@91MR2
I would replace all fuel lines and put a clear inline filter in. Definilty pull the carbs and do a clean through.

Chances are the jets are clogged. Probably sat around with ethanol fuel in it. Nothing but problems for any thing with a carb. I use 91 non ethanol in everything I own with a carb (lawn care stuff). I put everything away in the fall with full tanks of fuel, everything starts up perfectly in the spring.

^ THIS

So glad the gas station closest to me started selling ethanol free 91. Just wish it was pay at the pump.

Got raped yesterday at small boat harbor at 4.27/gal for 91 octane, lesson learned I’ll fill up on land before hitting the water.

Just a heads up for anyone going out on Ontario. Wilson gas dock is right around $4.50/gal. Olcott is $3.39. Can’t beat that with a stick.

I’ve been driving to Delta Sonic on Niagara Falls Blvd. to fill up mine with ethanol free and also fill a secondary tank that I keep at home. $3.29/Gal at my last fill up.

Delta locations:

Ethanol-Free

New York:

1355 Niagara Falls Blvd., Buffalo

2285 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga

Niagara Falls Blvd. & 80th St., Niagara Falls

Ridge & Langner Rd., West Seneca

I have a 14 gallon portable tank that I bought and can’t use if any boat/jet ski people are interested.

Erie Basin doesn’t like me filling up that way so my loss is your gain. $80 takes it

I like that, how does the filler actually work? gravity feed?

Gravity feed, I think it runs about 2 gallons per minute.

That rent a cop will find a reason…lol

Its not even to that point yet… Its a Vac fuel pump and the vac line running to it is pushing out air… Instead of sucking. There is no fuel even making it to the fuel filter yet.

I have one of those flo-n-go things. It’s fucking awesome.

I would clean out the selector valve, clean the fuel water separator and replace EVERY FUEL LINE. Then rebuild the carbs and replace the diaphragms. It may need a pump too. These work off the pulse signal off of the crankcase of the 2 stroke motor. It should feel like its blowing air. If nothing is getting past that point it’s probably plugged or the diaphragm is rotten.

Well it actually looks like someone has replaced all the lines on his ski previously to updated ones. There absoultly not oem and there USCG approved. Yea its a strong presence of air blowing out the line for the vaccume pump. Very Strange… But even after a long crank its not pulling fuel at all. We even tried it on res and main on the selector valve. When the fuel filter was first pulled down there was some gas in there and the fuel filter was as clean as could be. The seals hanging out of the fuel pump dont look dry rotted at all, Looked brand new also. Im almost positive if he could get some fuel to the motor that thing would fire right up. He has a nice strong spark and it cranks over well with decent compression. His manual says 138 for Factory spec Compression. With him being in the 120 range would that be enough blow by to cause that line to blow and not suck air?

Spray alittle starting fluid into the cylinders and see if it fires at all?
