Dahhh…ok then, thanks man…but tell me this - why does it not cause an issue on reserve?

well that usually means your fuel selector is plugged up… But even if it’s plugged up a little bit that would cause low fuel delivery to the engine and on top of having those screens not cleaned that would cause what your talking about. I would take the fuel selector valve off and clean it and blow air thru it first before you pull a carb off.

Thanks Dave, will give this a try…

Sounds like my issue last year Joe. Mine turned out to be a bad kill switch - the tether switch kept thinking I was being thrown off the ski, lol. Check the fuel lines first and that selector again to see if it’s opening fully.

Anyone interested in going out today? I’m definitely going out with a standup guy. Small craft advisory, 5 foot waves

@91MR2 @HouseS2K @SOLITUDE @Scott @LXIFLYBY @NYstanger @ryanbgb22 @Birdman64 @LowlyOilBurner @almostBrett @GV1390 @vq30de … and anyone else I’m forgetting: A few of us are going out on the lake from Gallagher Beach sometime after 5pm. Waves are already over the wall

We need to figure out the GoPro situation so this actually gets on film this time!

Siqqq should be a good day

sold the jet ski though, for more than asking price!

Today is my late day at work, earliest i could hit water would be 7 ugh:tdown:

@HouseS2K we’ll likley not get on the water until 6:30, we’ll be waiting for others to get outa work too. If you’re interested definitely swing by! You’ll see us.

I also have a few GoPro mount options courtesy of @newman

Damn can’t do today but prob be out tomorrow after work. Where is Gallapher beach anyways?

It’s next to Nfta small boat harbor, to the left of it.

Formerly Ghetto Beach.

Sorry dude, I was already out there this afternoon…saw Solitude out there…awesome dude…witnessed my wife and I make fools of ourselves, as she was unable to get on the machine without tipping it over…it really is not meant for 2 people, unfortunately…

Regardless, I had the same issue occur again from the other day…I rode on the reserve setting the whole time today…got to figure this out…

Going to prob. go out again tomorrow afternoon, will see what happens…

I’m game for tomorrow as well.

I’m down, I don’t just don’t go out on days that the wind is over 7mph.

do what I did on my old Yamaha, eliminate the selector all together, access your tank, get a union fitting, and join the res/norm fuel lines together and run that line directly to the carbs. All the res did on my Yamaha was just a longer pick up tube in the tank.

Thanks for the advice, however, I’m still trying to figure out how the fuel selector valve could cause this issue - by no means am I challenging anyone here, just trying to learn and understand it is all…I appreciate everyone’s inputs here, I really do…

Thanks Josh, I somehow missed this post…I’ll report back after checking the fuel selector valve…

It happens quite often to older skis tbh. The o rings go bad from the ethanol and swell in the vlave from sitting so your getting a restriction in the valve it self. You can either bypass it or get a new valve. My vote is to bypass! It has been found to even cause the motors to run lean when it starts to become restrictive.

Great, thanks for the info., man. I’ll pull the valve off this w/e and see how it looks…they are on eBay for $15-20 shipped all day, so I will go that route if mine is bad…I like keeping things to a more factory spec. the older I get…less to remember down the road, ha…

On that note, whos going out today?

Good chance Ill be cruising the river today. Launch at the falls dock.
