«OFFICIAL» Watercraft / Jet Ski / PWC Thread + Boats

Windy out there yesterday. Bad hair conditions.

I’m all about differing to Darwin, but I can’t see any circumstance where wearing a life vest would be restrictive or a nuance on the water. Especially with modern vests… and that whole 90% of all water deaths are due to a lack of a vest thing.

lol, it’s all out war with the kayaks right now. They even put up a sign with a stand up jet ski on it at Gallagher saying the whole outer harbor / break wall was 10mph.

From yesterday:

Am I the only one who sees the yield sign at the end of the Niagara st ramp? It’s the only entrance like that around here so I can see how it could be missed.

There is not a merge lane long enough to reliably merge. This coupled with oblivious people on 190 that refuse to even sort of help leads to having to come to a dead stop every once in a while.

People die there… http://www.buffalonews.com/city-region/music-community-mourns-death-of-one-of-its-leaders-20150525

The worst is after some a-hole prevents a merge and forces you to stop in rush hour traffic other a-holes fly by you from behind which makes it 10x more dangerous than it already is.

There should be a “no merge area” or similar sign to make it more clear but this is a really bad design / dangerous spot.

There is just that, people don’t read it though.

Wait, what?! How new is this law?? I was stopped a few months back with 4 riders, not wearing PFD’s, in my 14’ boat by Erie Sheriff and they made no mention of this. Either way, fuck NY.

Bought a couple Kawi x2’s last week…

One of 4 runs the other 3 are strictly parts machines.

Stayed out late enough to check out the sturgeon moon last night.

Wow, that last pic is awesome!

Yeah, those are seriously nice

Kinda kicking myself for not bringing the good camera with me more. Been relying on the iPhone too much.

Yeah good stuff

Lake Erie free ride is this weekend too BTW. If anyone is interested in seeing some great standup skis in action head to Thunder Bay (just east of Crystal Beach on the Canadian side of Lake Erie.)

Bringing the new boat up Welland Canal, but don’t think we can wrap things up by then. Probably the weekend after this.

Do you call in to customs when you go there?

Riding or sailing there, yeah. But I’ll be driving.

Despite some heat and humidity, tonight was a good night to haul ass on the water.

Sanded and cleaned the hull below the water line last week

Was out yesterday with my Doo…it is running so well, I almost forgot it ever had issues…been getting a a lot of good seat time this year, very happy about that…planning to go out again tomorrow around 4-5 at Gallagher…and this w/e too…

Went to the free ride and jumped a double boat wake for the first time

I have a lot of GoPro footage to sort through from this summer.
