Red top sr with the usual mods, dd 15psi, catch can plumbed to valve cover T,other side of the catch can is vented. Castrol 5 30 synthetic.
I am going through just under a liter a week of oil. No signs what so ever of burning it, compression is good, catch can is always empty, NO leaks. I am not fully understanding, i dont even drive the car that much, cant figure out where oil is dissapearing to… any suggestions? whats everyone else go through in oil? dd/track car
anyone? input would be nice… considering switching to a 10-40 or a 10-50 this week… some theory about ring wash happening, tune is on the rich side, but oil seems to be clean, aswell as all other fluids

None. Nothing white or gray… Its a tad rich in the low end, so taking off from a light, or parking, or reversing it puffs a little black, but at no point in any revs does white or gray happen… What’s everyone use as track oil? 10w or 15w?
oil leaks or burns, it cant just disappear from your engine lol. Since its not leaking it has to be burning… as for oil viscosity I don’t know about everyone else on this forum but I use mobil 0-40 oil
15w40 cheap shit from walmart. 8 dollars. change every 2- 2500 k. change filter every 5-6
3 oilchanges, 30 bucks. Always fresh oil in your car.

that is a lot of oil loss. double check for oil leaks or buildup. using synthetic oil on an old engine like our sr’s may allow oil to seep past seals and gaskets easier.

just check hopefully not but yeah look for leaks everywhere if your sure its not burning.
reading this made me realize this only started happening once i went synthetic… thanks, im going to throw some conventional 10-40 in and hopefully it fixes itself
