Low oil light came on for the wife in the '05 Grand Prix. It was about a quart and a half low. Don’t see any obvious leaks or smoke from the tailpipes. Has about ~70,000 miles on it. Does that seem excessive for burning in about 8500 miles?
I’m assuming it’s just normal use since it’s been so long since the last oil change. Yeah, I know, but the oil monitor is at 12%. 
For 8500 miles I am not shocked.
damn man, i know it’s just your wife’s GP but i still change full syn at 3k. its a small price to pay to keep the shortblock together.
might need some valve seals, that oil’s going somewhere. you’d be surprised how much the cat can clean up burned oil
It lives a pretty easy life (rt. 51 to 837, reverse, repeat), so I usually change when there’s 20% oil life on the monitor. I use 3k for the Trans Am.
