Oil pressure gauge

Is it possible to use the OEM oil pressure switch on a QR25DE to run an aftermarket electric oil pressure gauge, or do I need to tee off of it and install the sender that came with the gauge? My instrument cluster has no oil gauge so I was figuring it might work, I’ve read a few posts saying that it is possible and was wondering if anyone here has done so, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance…

Anyone!?!?!?!?!?!

I doubt it would work. Mainly because the voltages are unlikely to be the same, I know it’s poor wording but I’ll try to explain. The oem sender will send a certain voltage for a certain oil pressure, for example (totally random numbers) it will send a 3mv signal to the ecu if the pressure is 40psi. The aftermarket sender may only send a 2mv signal at the same pressure to the gauge. This means if the gauge is hooked up to the oem sender it will be reading higher than what it actually is, like 50psi when its actually 40psi because its sending more voltage.

Please, someone correct me if I’m wrong (which there is a good chance), this is just what I’d imagine would happen. I do know that this has nothing to do with it NOT having a stock oil pressure gauge though.

It in fact DOES NOT work, out of curiosity I tried it and it doesn’t read anything from the pressure switch. It must be connected to an actual sender, anynoe know where I could find an oil filter sandwich plate for a QR25DE?

is there no info on this @ Myspecv.com?
