To spooolin: How does one’s opinion go from “BEST WINTER CAR EVER” to “There fucking JUNK”? As for the rest of you, in the for sale thread, it states it has an EPROM ecu, as well as “currently running 17 psi (and loves it)”. If this doesn’t imply tuned, I don’t know what would.
One last comment, the way spooolin presents himself online seems to be a bit immature, which would make me more than a bit hesitant to deal with him.

As much as I am a fan of buyer beware, when the seller is purposefully trying to peddle broken/hacked shit, then there is no excuse for it, especially if it’s not the first time.

before i had my swap done i was in the last proces of aquireing all the pieces needed. Last was the speed sensor and reverse sensor which spoolin had contacted me about…we had discussed shipping and everything was settled…than without any warning, the parts i was about to purchase were now being used on a swap the next day…how convienient…had i mentioned before this speed sensor issue broke out, i was almost about to buy $200 ka tranny off him then backed out… When i picked up one with no where near his millage, and better condition for…practically nothing.
Yes talons are Junk… But there good in the snow… thats Y i get one ONLY for the winter. then get rid of it…

well for starters… EPROM ecu does Not in any way mean its a tuned ecu…
(although) Eproms are the easiest way to put a chip in on the factory ecu…
Only some dsms came with this ecu… In the 2nd gen models it was only the 95. and in the 1st gens it was in 93 and some 91s i believe…
I never once In my thread or at any time talking to solarian say this car is ready to be beaten in. Or or has a tuned ecu. or needs nothing…
I ran it for 2 months with no problems with just a 2g mass and no compansation (safc or other piggy back set ups) and I never once had issues…
But I should also add that this engine blew up due oil starvation Not detonation due to improper tuning… IT was soley caused my solarian driving the car with a bad turbo. while it burned all the oil and lead to the engine being starved of oil… So I dont think we need to even get into how it wasnt tuned… because that was not the cause of the engine failure…
and Solarian… I said what can I do to help… you never said anything other then get me a price for a engine. (which I never did cause I felt like i would be wasting my time as i knew you wouldent get it from me anyways… But The offer was there… to help you out any way I could…
I do recall tho when u picked up the car that I told you that the gas in it was 91… so be carfull… because you hould Only run 94… then after you blew it… you mentioned that you had troubles with it when you were still runnung the 91… well this was just after I told you not to boost too much with the 91 in there… But you didnt listen… you got boost happy and blew the fucker up…

Haha, everyone’s so shocked about it. My Solara had nearly 300k on it, when I tried trading it in for the G, they wouldn’t take it for ANY amount, they wouldn’t give me a single dollar as a trade. I didn’t enjoy driving it, so I wanted something different.

I think the issue is that this is a car club. No one should sell pieces of shit to another member. If you are selling a car that cannot be beaten on or has turbo/oil/whatever problems this should be mentioned up front.
In this case, in my opinion, the seller knew the issues about the car but never stated it in the for sale thread.
Personally, I would never sell a car that someone couldnt drive off and mash the pedal. Its not like he was buying a Geo Metro…Its a sports car you expect it to perform.

though i have not directly dealt with jay myself, close friends of mine have dealt with him and every single transaction has been just as awful as this.
i’d stay far away from vindicate motorsports, his partner isn’t much better than him for ripping people off, suppose that’s why they’re together.
