One wheel has more angle then the other?

Checking my car the other day i was underneath while checking clearance…drivers side is clean but the passenger side on the inside when turning right hits the metal lip above the frame rail only on passenger side…driver side while turning left does not hit…

its like my car can turn right more then it can left…

what is this??

had an alignment done too in may.

rims are 18x8.5

may have got an alignment but if the rack wasnt centred then Itll alllow more angle one way

turn wheel full lock one way… then all the way the other counting turns… then bring it back to where half those turns would be… that should be centre… see if you wheel are straight or not… if not then that s the problem

^^ Yeah sounds like it could be rack centering. How much does the left side clear by the way? Is it really close to that frame rail edge too but just barely clears?

  1. Check your rack and make sure it’s centered as mentioned above (don’t just approximate too, make sure you try to be accurate in your # of turns)

  2. If your rack centering’s good and your left side is coming fairly close to the edge too, start looking at your front alignment #'s, first at your caster values LH vs. RH and then your camber. See how much of a difference there is. If you think your values may have changed to due to some reason go in for another alignment and just get a baseline on where you stand to see if there’s any major differences LH to RH.

  3. If all this potential alignment investment is not worth it to you and you’re close to clearing the edge anyway, you could just throw your money in on some spacers and that should solve your clearance issue. If you want to flush out more and clear your edge and you know your alignment’s good this would be a pretty good win-win.
