Ordered a custom plate...

Nice dude!

moving quick!

Looking good! Wish i had this much motivation. Iv had a motor for 2 months out of a car i haven’t even taken apart yet.

Cam, ported heads, fast intake should be 600-615whp all day long. Stock t56 is plenty good unless you want to make 800whp+

I beg to differ but carry on lol

Ugh well if you have 500whp, a drag pack and drop the clutch at 5000rpm you might have an issue.

This thread is full of things done right.

Can you even call this “modding for spring”? it’s not even winter yet if you want to get specific. LOL

X…

Thanks Xander.

I was able to get the old cam out and new one in last weekend when we had some warmer temperatures. i haven’t taken many pictures during the process but here’s a couple:

I have the balancer and rack back in as well. ARP cam gear bolts, ARP crank bolt. American Racing Headers are being made and will be shipped soon. Cylinders heads are at American Heritage Performance in California for the following:

-new valve guides
-new exhaust valves
-new valve seals
-BTR dual valve springs and titanium retainers
-porting
-milled .020"

Should have them back in a couple weeks. I will need to measure for pushrods but other than that it’s ready to go back together once the heads are back. I have all the gaskets and hardware waiting. I also need to order tires soon. Going with a drag radial on the stock 19s for this year. Clutch and Weld wheels later in the season/next winter.

Seems like you know what you are doing, but to be sure a mistake doesn’t happen, be sure that the timing cover bolts stay loose until you install the balancer. They look tight in the pictures.

Looking great!

Nice progress

You get a Corvettet jacket or hat yet?

wow, I missed this thread until now… good stuff going on in here.

Seriously, this is awesome

You are correct, I went back and loosened them up before installing the balancer

I got a beanie and tshirt from the old lady for Xmas among a few other things. Still need the jacket and ball cap though… I’ll have to get a picture of the neon light she got for me as well…

Trying to decide on tires. Thinking NT05r 305/35r19 in the rear and NT05 275/35r18 up front. I plan to go with some 17" wheels in the back at some point but need to replace the bald stock tires before the season starts.

I have a set of 17 inch C5 wagon wheels with 275 drag radials for sale if you’re looking in spring.

I also run the 305/35/19s NT05r’s out back they work really well I had RE11s previously but as soon as any boost would build they would spin and the car would walk into other lanes :frowning:

I’m pretty dead set on some Weld RTS wheels, but I’ll keep it in mind.

I have also replaced the stock turn signals with blacked out ones, I preferred replacement over some stick on film. I’d like to have the windows tinted, I had my mini done at Eclipse and the guy said the C6 rear window sucks and they usually don’t do them.

600rwhp NA sounds very nice

Got some things done over the weekend:

Cleaned and prepped the block for the heads:

Since GM uses loctite on head bolts I chased all of the larger head bolt threads with this fancy ARP tool(need to grab smaller thread chaser from work for the smaller threads):
