DONE! Fire it up tomorrow and drive/break in. Starting tuning sessions tomorrow as well, basically mild part throttle/idle. Doing the best i can without a wideband at the moment but thats coming soon

Doesnt look like much difference from last year… hehe i like it

vroooooooom vroooooooooooooooom

500hp…rriigghhttt

Looks good bud!

u dont think its making close to 500hp?

looking good justin!

All i got to say is HOLLLLLY SHIT

Car is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy tooo loud and mean right now. ALso leaking oil out the back…i think my manifold has a bad seal in the back…so i may have to pull that

Also i think i’m leaking tranny fluid at the cooler in the rad… gotta look into that to make sure whats up.

I’ll get a vid later but the car is just plain wickeeeed!!

congrats

finally lol

tranny leak is fixed…jsut a loose connection. oil leak like a fountain… manifold is not sealing right so i gotta work on that. SO no driving today…which sucks i really wanted to do the break in.

workin on a vid now…but idle is high and erratic…still working on the tune. Its close but still off. may have vacuum leak or something but looking into it

right stuff

u got the right stuff baby…

glad to see its coming along!

Orr89rocz, I have always admired your car. It looks like things are really coming along well for you, last time I saw the car you were in the staging lanes at prp. Next time we’re up there I would love to run against the ol’89

get r done

congrats

looks like my car will be home and running real soon

I’ve used rightstuff before and it worked great…this time i try gaskets and rtv and oil pours out the back… GAY

i’ll never use intake gaskets again, manifold sits up too high with gaskets and i’m not shaving the manifold

BUT HERE IT IS BOYS AND GIRLS. MY ROUGH untuned high idle with my 4inch single exhaust into a dynatech split flow
Idle is erratic and high at 1000-1150 rpms bouncing around. Vid doesnt do it justice… its louder, more erratic in the real life… its wayyy too much car sound for me  I gotta tone it down

Sounds great! Get that thing tuned and lets see some numbers!

great idle video

nice

Ok updates

Changed the exhaust up. went with a ultraflo muffler from dynomax… 6inch round case. Also fabbed up the rest of the system. i like it. Looks identical to last years setup except bigger pipes up front. rear tips are the same.

its abit quieter than in the vid which is what i wanted. still loud when your on it and when it is very hot haha. But it sounds good and definately quieter inside the car than before with the extensions on the pipes. Job well done i think even tho it hangs kinda low  idle has calmed down abit as the computer is learning and i’m slowly begining tuning.

Got the LC-1 wideband and G3 air/fuel gauge installed yesterday and will test all that tomorrow once its sunny and nice out! FINALLY

Also have some new wheels/tires for the car that i’ll get pics of once i get them mounted up and such. Should look good but we’ll see. Not sure when i’ll get them on, as i need to work the fenders/wells to fit these meats out back. All in good fun

Now for a potential problem i’m having concerning either the torque converter or trans or both  my tranny was low on fluid and i drove it around alittle. I decided to give it some more throttle as more mileage was put on the motor. stomped on it quickly and I thought the car was spinning tire but then again it didnt seem like it as i have ET streets on the car and i had no black marks on the road which they usually make. no sound either but the car is loud. So i let out quickly and returned home.

Checked fluid level and it was low so i added a full 2 quarts :yikes: Much lower than i thought. I knew it lost some during motor install/torque converter install but i added a quart before.

took it for another drive and car seemed to do the same thing. Not sure whats up but i think the motor is very lean up top so it may just not be making any power and starving for both air and fuel. COuld be the trans slipping or the converter just blowing open/slipping but i dont think that can happen?

Tomorrow i’ll do some tuning with the wideband and check fluid levels again. I’ll try it again but i hope the trans isnt toast. That will set me back a few weeks. its been beefed up about 15000-20000 miles ago, so it shouldnt have broke, but maybe that quick blast with low fluid was enough to toast the trans?

lookin good
