I love that CNN’s news story has a couple of pictures and basically zero information.
Remember that Norway started the whole “cartoon Muhammed” thing.

I would like to convey my sincere condolences to the Norwegian government, the Norwegian people and the families and loved ones of all those who suffered in these cruel and cowardly acts,” the statement said. “Our solidarity with Norway remains steadfast. NATO countries stand united in the battle against these acts of violence.”
Great one more conflict we’re gonna get drawn into while our economy, our infrastructure, and our education system all suffer.
Oslo is also where they award the Peace Prize, so if you’re a terrorist group not big on “peace” I guess that makes it a legitimate target as well.

The blast comes as Norway grapples with a homegrown terror plot linked to Al Qaeda. Two suspects are in jail awaiting charges.
Last week, a Norwegian prosecutor filed terror charges against an Iraqi-born cleric for threatening Norwegian politicians with death if he is deported from the Scandinavian country. The indictment centered on statements that Mullah Krekar – the founder of the Kurdish Islamist group Ansar al-Islam – made to various news media, including American network NBC.
So much for the whole, “no one ever bothers Norway” thing.

you guys find it funny now how we all assumed it was Al Qaeda?
I find this to be somewhat of a game changer in that it smashes pre-conceived notions and takes everything back to square one.
A native, norwegian who appears to have been a moderately succesful business man (32 and owned a farm among other things) who was totally in-culture for appearances sake.
You have those facts; the ‘who’ he is/was that go against expectations… then you have how well conceived and how incredibly effective his massacre was.
Dylan and Eric were fully armed and ran into columbine and had a long while and couldnt get even a quarter of the kills this one guy racked up. Seung-Hui Cho went oen further by picking areas of the school he could corner kids in and took out more than Eric and Dylan with just a couple pistols… This guy was dressed as a police officer and on a secluded island attacking unarmed and unassuming youths while the police were entirely pre-occupied dealing with the explosions he set off downtown, which in themselves would have achieved his objective for the most part.
What’s even crazier is that he didnt kill himself. Rather, he surrenderred so that he could have his platform in court. The Columbine / V-tech killers all pussied out as most of these guys do; scared of the consequences. This guy has taken it to a whole other level already and it’s only been a couple days. Reports are being all grandiose with their adjectives about his manifesto etc. but wouldnt it be interesting to see him super composed in court and turn out to be a well educated and all around moderate person with a well-articulated point?
We all want him to be crazy because it’s easier to justify the act as being crazy that way… but his agenda, anti-immigration, is actually a major political issue in Europe as well. The last thing you can do is heed his message because it only promotes more of the same.

I read alot of his stuff yesterday…he is well spoken and highly intelligent. He’s what I’d call Hitler genius. He was so strategic it’s wild.

before this it was reasonably acceptable or effective (politically speaking) to blame brown people for modern political terrorism. Now it’s the guy next door who looks like you, owns property, is pretty bright and could be in a weekly Sears flyer for wool sweaters that you have to watch out for… He’s either a terrorist or your daughter’s boyfriend. Good luck weeding him out at the airport.

The anti-immigration stance is pointless in Europe already. A majority of Muslims is just a generation or two away. There are enough there already having about nine children each while the tradtional Europeans are only having about two children. Do the math, the old world Europe is history. The US will follow.
