Out of country work ??

Thats just it I wont have my old job back when I get back … And if I stay here I will make good money and be pretty safe (job wise not attack wise)… but the pay out is great and would set me up for the rest of my life.

And you cant take a gun oversea’s but I doubt it would be hard to “aquire” one in the middle east. And I do agree with blending in would be the main concern me being german/irish dont think that will be tooo easy.

fuck money… you’re considering going to a country where 99% of the population hates you without you doing anything. they just abducted and killed a group of ANTI-WAR ACTIVIST like 2 weeks ago. those assholes are nuts, they will die without even batting an eye and you want to go work amongst them. fuck that, greed kills. half the ppl over there were forced to go and you’d go willing for some money? nuts.

yup… totally not worth it… if you want money that bad, get a second job or do side work.

Dont go.

 for real do a nine to five and then just sell pot

hahahaha

hmm yeah that is kinda not what I was looking for … maybe I should just look into some side work to pay off some bills … anyone know of anything around for a telco worker ??

put it this way steve. nicoles best friend lisa has a boyfriend in the army. he returned from iraq last year. he also had 15 grand in the bank because while he was there he didn’t have anything to spend his money on. everything was paid for and what do you buy in the middle of the nowhere. on the other hand he is going to school to learn arabic so he can become special forces and kill terrorists for the rest of his life so your goals are different. I would really think about it. also you must look at where you will be living and working. if you are with US military on a base and working close to that I would say yes. bahgdad is not a place I would want to just look for an appartment.

15 whole thousand???

yeah clear for 3 months…sounds like a deal to me

$5K a month doesn’t sound like a deal to me considering the risk…now, $9K a month and I’m more interested and for $15K a month I’d definitely go if I weren’t married.

Fack…that’s a nice chunk of money.

5k a month… psshh that would be the day

the way it sounded, it sounded like he was there for a year or so in which case 15k really ain’t shit. also if you make 2500/month here that’s only double minus the tax break to risk your life over there

id go, in a second no doubt about it!

ok guys… then go. they’re are a shitload of jobs available and you can find them on monster, careerbuilder, all those sites. literally every field is needed over there.

Now theres a smart idea. Wear arab-style clothing , a fake long beard, and carry an assault rifle…

IN A UNITED STATES MILITARY SECURED ZONE.

Uh…I never suggested carrying said assault rifle around. I’d want it for wherever I was living- I don’t think they let any non-military carry firearms over there.

And I’d definitely wear arab-style clothing and grow a beard…but I don’t think wearing a fake beard would be the best idea.

It depends on where you are going and the conditions that you will live under.

I lived in England for two years and that was very cool. I have also been to over 20 other countries and not all of them were a place that I would want to have an assignment in.

In general, if you are going to a country where the government uses Muslim religious laws as the underpinnings of the gov’t philosophy, you will not be very comfortable nor have much fun. You will NOT see another female and will only have access to near-beer. THese two things don’t sound like much but try it for a couple of weeks and you will change your mind.

I spent alot of time in Saudi Arabia and I can tell you one of my favorite sounds is hearing on an airplane’s PA system “We have now left Saudi airspace”. At that point, the stewardesses literally run down the isle throwing beer cans at passengers.

If you are serious, I can go into a little more detail about such things as being followed for days on end by the Saudi “Culture Police”, but I think you get the idea.

my uncle is over in kuwait working on a base being a postman. he has been there almost 8 months. i haven’t heard anything bad about it.
